Gabriel Mini’ took full advantage of his excellent Parolin / TM Racing equipment to stay at the front of the OK category during the whole weekend of Kristianstad during the third round of the European Championship. Fast and combative, he achieved his best performance of the European season and consolidated his position in the top three of the Championship.
“It’s very satisfying for Parolin to stay at the top of the results sheets, race after race, whatever the track and the driving conditions,” said Marco Parolin. “In Sweden, we were remarkably consistent at the front from the beginning to the end of the meeting when the competition was not easy, as shown by the small gaps between the competitors. Gabriele made no mistakes and the team did a great job to showcase the great potential of our chassis. We have a strong card to play in the Championship, which is very rewarding!”
Top Qualifying and heats
2nd in the OK-Junior World Championship last year at the same circuit, Gabriele Mini’ started the Swedish meeting well in 2019 in the higher category. After a magnificent 3rd place in the Qualifying session, only 52 thousandths of a second from pole position, the young Italian drove great races, twice with the fastest time. Gabriele kept pace with some of the competitors who had been putting on their new tyres before the final stages. This constant competitiveness allowed him to again appear in the top three.
Beautiful Final confirmation
“The race started very strongly with several attacks on the opening laps,” explained the Parolin Racing Kart driver. “By the time I came back to 2nd position (on the 5th lap), the leader had already widened the gap. I was able to accelerate in the second part of the race and I gradually got closer to the leader. It was a significant risk to try a manoeuvre and I preferred to take the second step of the podium, but the win had never been so close…”
The fastest lap of the Final, one-tenth faster than the winner, as well as the 3.9″ separating him from 3rd confirmed the real chances for Mini’ during this event. The top three in the provisional classification of the OK European Championship of which Mini’ is part have now distanced their main rivals. The final battle to take the title promises to be particularly tight in France, at the Le Mans circuit, from 19th to 21st July.
Un secondo posto a coronamento di una bella prestazione a Kristianstad
Gabriele Minì ha approfittato appieno del suo eccellente kart Parolin/TM Racing per restare ai vertici della categoria OK nel corso di tutto il week-end di Kristianstad, in occasione della terza prova del Campionato europeo. Veloce e combattivo, ha realizzato la sua migliore prestazione della stagione europea e ha consolidato la sua posizione nella Top-3 del Campionato.
“È una vera soddisfazione per Parolin essere ai vertici gara dopo gara, su qualsiasi pista e qualunque siano le condizioni nel corso della competizione”, ha voluto precisare Marco Parolin. “In Svezia, siamo stati regolarmente nelle prime posizioni dall’inizio alla fine del meeting nonostante la gara non fosse facile, come dimostrano i distacchi ridotti tra i protagonisti. Gabriele non ha commesso alcun passo falso e il team ha svolto un lavoro magnifico per valorizzare il forte potenziale dei nostri telai. Avevamo una bella carta da giocare nel Campionato, il che è molto gratificante!”
Al top delle prove cronometrate e delle manche
Secondo nel Campionato mondiale OK-Junior l’anno scorso sullo stesso circuito, Gabriele Minì ha iniziato bene il meeting svedese 2019 nella categoria superiore. Autore di un magnifico terzo tempo in occasione delle prove di qualificazione, a soli 52 millesimi di secondo dalla pole position, il giovane italiano ha realizzato delle manche straordinarie, riuscendo ad essere per ben due volte il più veloce. Gabriele a mantenuto un ritmo sostenuto nei confronti di certi concorrenti che avevano montato in anticipo il loro treno di pneumatici nuovi nelle ultime manche. Questa competitività costante gli ha consentito di figurare nuovamente nella Top-3.
Bella conferma finale
“La gara è iniziata molto forte con vari attacchi sin dai primi giri”, ha spiegato il pilota Parolin Racing Kart. “Il tempo di tornare in seconda posizione (al quinto giro) e il leader aveva già aumentato il distacco. Sono riuscito ad accelerare nella seconda parte della gara e mi sono progressivamente avvicinato al leader. Ero un po’ al limite per tentare una manovra e ho preferito assicurarmi il secondo gradino del podio, ma la vittoria non è mai stata così vicina…”
Il giro più veloce della finale, un decimo più veloce del vincitore, e i 3,9” che lo separavano dal terzo hanno confermato le reali chance di Minì nel corso di questa prova. I primi tre della classifica provvisoria del Campionato europeo OK di cui fa parte Minì sono ormai distanziati dai loro principali rivali. La battaglia finale per la conquista del titolo si preannuncia particolarmente serrata in Francia, sul circuito di Le Mans, dal 19 al 21 luglio.
Une 2e place pour couronner une belle prestation à Kristianstad
Gabriel Mini’ a pleinement profité de son excellent matériel Parolin/TM Racing pour rester sur les sommets de la catégorie OK pendant tout le week-end de Kristianstad lors de la 3e épreuve du Championnat d’Europe. Rapide et combatif, il a réalisé sa meilleure prestation de la saison européenne et conforté sa position dans le top 3 du Championnat.
« C’est une vraie satisfaction pour Parolin de se maintenir en haut des feuilles de résultats, course après course, quelles que soient les pistes et les conditions de roulage », tenait à préciser Marco Parolin. « En Suède, nous avons été remarquablement réguliers aux avant-postes du début à la fin du meeting alors que la compétition n’était pas facile, comme le montrent les écarts réduits entre les protagonistes. Gabriele n’a fait aucun faux pas et l’équipe a effectué un travail formidable pour mettre en valeur le fort potentiel de nos châssis. Nous avons une belle carte à jouer dans le Championnat, ce qui est très gratifiant ! »
Top des chronos et des manches
2e du Championnat du Monde OK-Junior l’an passé sur le même circuit, Gabriele Mini’ commençait bien le meeting suédois 2019 dans la catégorie supérieure. Auteur d’un magnifique 3e temps lors des essais qualificatifs, à seulement 52 millièmes de seconde de la pole position, le jeune Italien réalisait de superbes manches en étant par deux fois le plus rapide. Gabriele conservait un rythme soutenu face à certains concurrents ayant chaussé de manière anticipée leur train de pneus neufs dans les dernières manches. Cette compétitivité constante lui permettait de figurer à nouveau dans le top 3.
Belle confirmation finale
« La course a démarré très fort avec plusieurs attaques dès les premiers tours » , expliquait le pilote Parolin Racing Kart. « Le temps que je revienne en 2e position (au 5e tour), le leader avait déjà creusé l’écart. J’ai pu accélérer dans la 2e partie de la course et je me suis progressivement rapproché de la 1re place. C’était un peu juste pour tenter une manœuvre et j’ai préféré assurer la 2e marche du podium, mais la victoire n’avait jamais été aussi proche… »
Le meilleur tour de la finale, un dixième plus vite que le vainqueur, ainsi que les 3,9’’ le séparant du 3e confirmait les réelles chances de Mini’ au cours de cette épreuve. Les trois premiers du classement provisoire du Championnat d’Europe OK dont fait partie Mini’ ont désormais distancé leurs principaux rivaux. La bataille finale pour la conquête du titre s’annonce particulièrement serrée en France, sur le circuit du Mans, du 19 au 21 juillet.
