At Sarno, the CPB Sport Sodi-TM karts have amassed an outstanding trophy collection in the final round of the European KZ2 Championship. Emilien Denner took the victory and the opportunity to finish as 2019 European Vice-Champion.
On Italian soil, Jean Nomblot completed the French team’s triumph by mounting the podium, highlighting the very high performance of the Sodi chassis.
The KZ2 Final unleashed the passions at Sarno, with a breathtaking show on a track perfect for 125cc gearbox. 4th and 5th respectively on the starting grid, Jean Nomblot and Emilien Denner threw themselves into the battle for victory, aware of the high potential of their machines, as explained by Jean Nomblot, a young and talented hopeful in KZ2, when he got out of his kart.
“I felt extremely comfortable with the equipment throughout the meeting. With the CPB Sport team, we prepared for this great international event at Sarno by participating in the Trofeo Grifone, the WSK and the Trofeo Pagliuca, which I won at the beginning of June. I finished all my heats in the top four, winning on one occasion and finishing in 3rd place, while taking three lap records. I still achieved the fastest time of the Final, tied with Paolo Besancenez! The victory was close, but I am very happy to be on the third step of the podium.”
A great show in the Final
In fierce heat and a track with strong grip, the CPB Sport team prepared the Sodi-TM karts with impressive competitiveness. Emilien Denner gave everything to take the lead of the Final four laps from the finish and triumph with skill and style. “I was looking forward to this moment,” said Emilien. “I think it’s a deserved victory for our performance.”
“This is our fifth victory since the beginning of the season, but obviously the most spectacular,” said Paul Bizalion, the CPB Sport team manager. “There was a great emotion in seeing our two drivers Emilien Denner and Jean Nomblot on the podium, with Émilien on the top step and Kevin Cuoco receiving the best team manager cup. I would also like to congratulate Paolo Besancenez for his 2nd place, which allows Sodi to achieve a hat-trick in a country where karting is king! A year after Adrien Renaudin’s title of in our colours, we are again very satisfied to become European Vice-Champion with Emilien Denner. We must not forget that behind this fabulous result, there is a lot of work and investment, a valuable partnership with the Sodikart factory, outstanding technicians, an equally intense support to our other drivers and a perfect collaboration with our engines.” Daldosso Racing powered Emilien Denner and Galiffa Kart was in charge of Jean Nomblot’s TMs.
Other victories to pursue in 2019
The desire to make progress for all the team’s drivers remains a constant at CPB Sport. Experience is important at this level of competition and Vyacheslav Putyatin (Ukraine), Mark Villem Moor (Estonia), Daniel Lindholm (Sweden) and Jovan Pavicevic (Montenegro) will have learned a lot at Sarno. CPB also welcomed the comeback in the Final of the Frenchman Hubert Petit (+13) and the Italian Lorenzo Giannoni (+12).
The 2019 season is far from over and CPB Sport has many more challenges ahead, starting with the upcoming WSK races, the rest of the German Championship (DKM) and the FIA Karting International Super Cup – KZ2.
CPB Sport et Sodi vainqueurs à Sarno & vice-Champion d’Europe KZ2
À Sarno, les Sodi-TM du team CPB Sport ont amassé une exceptionnelle collection de trophées à l’occasion du final du Championnat d’Europe KZ2. Emilien Denner a conquis de haute lutte la victoire et en a profité pour terminer vice-Champion d’Europe 2019. En terre italienne, Jean Nomblot a complété le triomphe du team français en montant sur la troisième marche du podium, mettant en exergue les très hautes performances des châssis Sodi.
La finale KZ2 a déchaîné les passions à Sarno, avec un spectacle à couper le souffle sur une piste taillée pour les 125cc à boîte de vitesses. Respectivement 4e et 5e sur la grille de départ, Jean Nomblot et Emilien Denner se sont jetés dans la bataille pour la victoire, conscients du fort potentiel de leur machine, comme l’a expliqué Jean Nomblot, jeune et talentueux espoir du KZ2, à sa descente de kart.
“Je me suis senti extrêmement à l’aise avec le matériel durant tout le meeting. Avec le team CPB Sport, nous avons parfaitement préparé ce grand événement international de Sarno en participant au Trofeo Grifone, à la WSK et au Trofeo Pagliuca, que j’ai remporté au début du mois de juin. J’ai terminé toutes mes manches dans le top-4, en gagnant à une reprise et en terminant trois fois 2e, tout en décrochant 3 records du tour. J’ai encore réalisé le meilleur temps de la finale, ex aequo avec Paolo Besancenez ! La victoire était proche, mais je suis très heureux d’être monté sur la troisième marche du podium.”
Une sacrée démonstration en finale
Sous une forte chaleur et une piste au grip important, le team CPB Sport a préparé des ensembles Sodi-TM à l’impressionnante compétitivité. Emilien Denner a tout donné pour prendre définitivement la tête de la finale à quatre tours de l’arrivée et triompher avec l’art et la manière. “J’attendais ce moment avec impatience,” s’est réjoui Émilien. “Je pense que c’est une victoire méritée eu égard à notre pointe de vitesse.”
“C’est notre cinquième victoire depuis le début de la saison, mais évidemment la plus belle,” confiait Paul Bizalion, le responsable du team CPB Sport. “Ce fut une grande émotion de voir nos deux pilotes Emilien Denner et Jean Nomblot sur le podium, avec Émilien sur la première marche et Kevin Cuoco recevant la coupe du meilleur team manager. Je voudrais aussi féliciter Paolo Besancenez pour sa 2e place, qui permet à Sodi de réaliser un triplé dans un pays où le karting est roi ! Un an après le titre d’Adrien Renaudin sous nos couleurs, c’est encore une grande satisfaction de devenir vice-Champion d’Europe avec Emilien Denner. Il ne faut pas oublier que derrière ce fabuleux résultat, il y a beaucoup de travail et d’investissement, un partenariat précieux avec l’usine Sodikart, des techniciens de grande valeur, une assistance tout aussi intense envers nos autres pilotes et une parfaite collaboration avec nos motorises.” Daldosso Racing motorisait Emilien Denner et Galiffa Kart avait en charge les TM de Jean Nomblot.
D’autres victoires à conquérir en 2019
La volonté de faire progresser l’ensemble des pilotes du team reste une constante chez CPB Sport. L’expérience est importante à ce niveau de compétition et Vyacheslav Putyatin (Ukraine), Mark Villem Moor (Estonie), Daniel Lindholm (Suède) ainsi que Jovan Pavicevic (Monténégro) auront beaucoup appris à Sarno. CPB s’est aussi félicité des remontées en finale du Français Hubert Petit (+13) et de l’Italien Lorenzo Giannoni (+12).
La saison 2019 est loin d’être finie et CPB Sport a encore bien d’autres défis à relever, à commencer par les prochaines courses de la WSK, la suite du Championnat d’Allemagne (DKM) et la Super Coupe Internationale FIA Karting de KZ2.
