Sodikart has confirmed its place at the forefront of international racing with outstanding results in the most important event of the year.
With 20 Sodi chassis entered among the 170 drivers present, Sodikart was among the main players in the world final, proof of its growing presence in international competition.
In the KZ World Championship, Adrien Renaudin constantly fought for victory, Bas Lammers mounted the 3rd step of the podium and Anthony Abbasse regained 11 places in the Final. At the same time, Emilien Denner of Team CPB Sport dominated the KZ2 International Super Cup from start to finish, while Thomas Landais, Jean Nomblot and Hubert Petit were constantly on the attack.
A year full of victories
The 2019 season proved especially successful for the Sodi chassis with eight resounding wins in the major international KZ and KZ2 races. The Sodi Racing Team drivers shone in the first races: Anthony Abbasse won the Winter Cup, Bas Lammers and Adrien Renaudin then took a superb double in the WSK Super Master Series, while Abbasse won the first European round at Wackersdorf.
A satellite team of the Sodikart factory, CPB Sport assembled many drivers and obtained great results in KZ2. Emilien Denner the Andrea Margutti Trophy to start with before being crowned European Vice Champion, without forgetting the triumphant win for Sodi in the Sarno Final with victory for Denner (CPB Sport) ahead of Paolo Besancenez (3rd in the Championship) and Jean Nomblot (CPB Sport).
KZ: Renaudin in the top rank, Lammers on the podium
The FIA Karting – KZ World Championship is undoubtedly the greatest and toughest event of the season. This year the world’s best drivers competed on the famous Lonato track, the favorite training ground for the Italian factories. It was a dream field for a legendary race. In front of the specialists in the category, the young Adrien Renaudin was already formidable in Free Practice and confirmed this by taking pole position in Qualifying driving his Sodi / TM Racing powered by Cédric Sport Motors. He continued his exceptional progress in the heats and delivered a memorable battle in the Final. While he was in full battle for first place, a slight unfortunate collision halfway through the race kept him out of contention and he crossed the finish line in 2nd place. Unfortunately, a penalty for a spoiler dropped in the battle then relegated him to 9th.
Always among the frontrunners, Bas Lammers managed a remarkable recovery from 9th position and enlivened the Final thanks to his legendary sense of attack. He overtook multiple times and was rewarded with an extraordinary 3rd place in the world.
Anthony Abbasse was unlucky with mechanical breakdowns throughout the weekend. Already delayed in Qualifying, he had to retire in the first Qualifying Heat. He did not give up, however, and qualified for the Final before completing a heroic race with a gain of 11 places.
World crown for Denner and CPB Sport in KZ2
The FIA Karting International Super Cup – KZ2 was the most important competition of the year with more than 120 drivers from around the world. Paul Bizalion’s CPB Sport team alone accounted for 10% of the plateau. The top driver Emilien Denner displayed such a high level of performance and determination that nothing resisted him. After taking pole position, Emilien celebrated in the Qualifying Heats by winning six indisputable victories with his Sodi / TM Racing kart with engines prepared by Daldosso. He faced formidable opponents early in the Final before pulling away and controlling the race until his triumphal finish.
Jean Nomblot had started well with the 9th fastest time, but a first-round retirement caused by a faulty spark plug wire made him lose all his chances of shining. Hubert Petit managed to forget his 53rd in Timed Qualifying by qualifying 29th for the Final and then regaining another 17 places to finish 12th. Thomas Landais drove a very convincing event: 8th in Timed Qualifying, 11th at the end of the heats, he crossed the finish line in 11th place before being demoted for a unhooked spoiler.
Sodikart would like to salute the incredible work of the drivers, teams and mechanics who have worked all year to highlight the quality of the Sodi chassis. The brilliant performances of the Sodi Racing Team in KZ, as well as the CPB Sport satellite team and the private teams in KZ2 throughout the season reach a very satisfying conclusion at Lonato. The goal of the world’s largest kart manufacturer is to continue this momentum and to do even better in 2020.
SODI : Victoire mondiale en KZ2 et 3e en KZ
Sodikart a confirmé son rang au premier plan de la compétition internationale en obtenant des résultats exceptionnels lors de la plus importante épreuve de l’année. Avec 20 châssis Sodi inscrits parmi les 170 pilotes présents, Sodikart figurait parmi les principaux acteurs de cette finale mondiale, preuve de son implantation grandissante en compétition internationale.
Dans le Championnat du Monde KZ, Adrien Renaudin s’est battu en permanence pour la victoire, Bas Lammers est monté sur la 3e marche du podium et Anthony Abbasse a regagné 11 places en finale. En parallèle, Emilien Denner, du Team CPB Sport, a dominé de bout en bout la Super Coupe Internationale KZ2, tandis que Thomas Landais, Jean Nomblot et Hubert Petit enchaînaient les coups d’éclat.
Une année riche en victoires
La saison 2019 s’est avérée particulièrement faste pour les châssis Sodi avec huit victoires retentissantes dans les grandes courses internationales KZ et KZ2. Les pilotes du Sodi Racing Team brillaient dès les premières épreuves : Anthony Abbasse remportait un premier succès marquant à la Winter Cup, Bas Lammers et Adrien Renaudin signaient ensuite un superbe doublé en WSK Super Master Series, tandis qu’Abbasse remportait la 1re épreuve européenne à Wackersdorf.
Team satellite de l’usine Sodikart, CPB Sport alignait de nombreux pilotes et obtenait des résultats formidables en KZ2. Emilien Denner remportait pour commencer le Trophée Andrea Margutti avant d’être sacré vice-Champion d’Europe. On n’est pas près d’oublier le triplé victorieux de Sodi lors de la finale de Sarno avec la victoire de Denner (CPB Sport) devant Paolo Besancenez (3e du Championnat) et Jean Nomblot (CPB Sport).
KZ : Renaudin au premier rang, Lammers sur le podium
Le Championnat du Monde FIA Karting – KZ est incontestablement la plus belle et la plus difficile épreuve de la saison. Les meilleurs pilotes mondiaux s’affrontaient cette année sur la fameuse piste de Lonato, terrain d’entraînement favori des usines italiennes. Un plateau de rêve pour une course mythique. Face aux ténors de la catégorie reine du karting, le jeune Adrien Renaudin se montrait déjà redoutable lors des essais libres et confirmait en décrochant la pole position des chronos au volant de son Sodi/TM Racing motorisé par Cédric Sport Motors. Il poursuivait son parcours exceptionnel dans les manches et livrait une bataille mémorable en finale. Alors qu’il était pleine lutte pour la 1re place, un petit accrochage malencontreux à mi-course l’empêchait de disputer la victoire et il franchissait la ligne d’arrivée en 2e position. Malheureusement, une pénalité pour spoiler décroché dans la bagarre le reléguait ensuite au 9e rang.
Toujours présent parmi les meilleurs, Bas Lammers réussissait une remontée marquante depuis la 9e position et animait la finale grâce à son légendaire sens de l’attaque. Il multipliait les dépassements et s’adjugeait une extraordinaire 3e place mondiale.
Anthony Abbasse aura manqué de chance pendant tout le week-end en étant confronté à des casses mécaniques. Déjà retardé lors des chronos, il devait renoncer dans la 1re manche qualificative. Il ne baissait pourtant pas les bras et se qualifiait pour la finale avant de réussir une course héroïque avec un gain de 11 places.
Consécration mondiale pour Denner et CPB Sport en KZ2
La Super Coupe Internationale FIA Karting – KZ2 se présentait comme la compétition la plus importante de l’année en présence de plus de 120 pilotes du monde entier. L’équipe CPB Sport de Paul Bizalion représentait à elle seule 10 % du plateau. Son pilote de pointe Emilien Denner affichait un niveau de performances et une détermination tels que rien ne lui résistait. Auteur de la pole position, Émilien faisait un véritable festival dans les manches qualificatives en remportant 6 victoires incontestables avec son Sodi/TM Racing préparé par Daldosso. Il affrontait des adversaires redoutables au début de la finale avant de prendre le large et de contrôler la course jusqu’à son arrivée triomphale.
Jean Nomblot avait bien commencé avec le 9e chrono, mais un abandon en 1re manche causé par un fil de bougie défectueux lui faisait perdre toutes ses chances de briller. Hubert Petit parvenait à faire oublier son 53e chrono en se qualifiant 29e puis en regagnant encore 17 places pour finir 12e de la finale. Thomas Landais réussissait quant à lui une course très convaincante : 8e au chrono, 11e à l’issue des manches, il franchissait la ligne d’arrivée au 11e rang avant d’être rétrogradé par la faute d’un spoiler décroché.
Sodikart tient à saluer le travail incroyable des pilotes, des teams et des mécaniciens qui ont oeuvré pendant toute l’année pour mettre en valeur la qualité des châssis Sodi. Les performances extrêmement brillantes du Sodi Racing Team en KZ, du team satellite CPB Sport et des équipes privées en KZ2 tout au long de la saison ont trouvé une très belle conclusion à Lonato. L’objectif du premier constructeur mondial de karts est de continuer sur cette lancée et de faire encore mieux en 2020.
