LESSER-KNOWN MODELS FROM ŠKODA AUTO’S 125-YEAR HISTORY: THE LW THREE-WHEELER FROM LAURIN & KLEMENT

In 1905, Laurin & Klement produced not only the young company’s first automobile, the Voiturette A, in Mladá Boleslav but also the more compact #lwthreewheeler: Driven by a 3.7 kW (5 hp) water-cooled single-cylinder engine, the practical, 160-kilogram light transport vehicle reached speeds of up to 40 km/h.

The driver sat on a motorbike saddle above the rear axle, looking forward over the heads of the passengers or the roof of the cargo area, which could hold up to 200 kilograms.
