At the end of the spectacular Finals, the Frenchman Jeremy Iglesias was crowned FIA Karting World Champion – KZ.
The Italian Simone Cunati won the FIA Karting International Super Cup – KZ2 and the Israel’s Ariel Elkin won the FIA Karting Academy Trophy Final, while the American Connor Zilisch won the Trophy.
This time, the weather didn’t disrupt the racing, although the few drops that fell on the starting grid of the KZ Final raised doubts for a moment. The last Qualifying Heats held in the morning had decided the list of finalists. The Academy Final was undoubtedly the most exciting with its changes of leaders and many twists and turns, with Ariel Elkin was the first Israeli to win an international FIA Karting race. The victories of Cunati in KZ2 as well as Iglesias in KZ rewarded the best in each category at the end of very high quality sporting competition.
Cunati clinches KZ2 Super Cup
The hierarchy of the FIA Karting International Super Cup – KZ2 evolved during the last Qualifying Heats and because of a sanction against Viktor Gustavsson (SWE – Birel ART/TM Racing/Vega) concerning a heat on Saturday: a disqualification for coming in underweight. Simone Cunati (ITA – Birel ART/TM Racing/Vega) was on pole position for the start of the Final and was able to exploit his advantage throughout the 25 laps. Chased by Arthur Carbonnel (FRA – Sodi/TM Racing/Vega) on the third lap, he responded and flew away to a clear victory with an advantage of more than 1.5”. The FIA Karting Vice European Champion – KZ2, Cunati was racing with a private team, Modena Kart ASD, and managed to stay ahead of several factory teams.
The contest for the top places was intense. Giuseppe Palomba (ITA – Birel ART/TM Racing/Vega) started in seventh place, reached second position on lap 9 and kept the pace until the end. He was second, 4 tenths ahead of Giacomo Pollini (ITA – Formula K/TM Racing/Vega). Leonardo Marseglia (ITA – Birel ART/TM Racing/Vega) recovered his fourth position after some difficult first laps. Danilo Albanese (ITA- KR/Iame/Vega) had a good race, moving up from 17th to fifth place. Six Italian drivers finished in the top six. The 12 drivers who didn’t reach the finish line attested to the closeness of the racing.

Victory for Elkin, Zilisch crowned in the Academy
The 2020 FIA Karting Academy Trophy was won by the American Connor Zilisch, but the competition was nonetheless very lively for the 31 participants at the wheel of their one-design Exprit/Vortex/Vega karts.
Aleksander Gubenko (RUS) started on pole position and took the lead from Matteo De Palo (ITA). Connor Zilisch (USA) and Macéo Capietto (FRA) retired after an incident. Meanwhile, Ariel Elkin (ISR) started a magnificent comeback from 11th position. He managed to place a decisive move on the last lap to cross the finish line as winner, a first at this level for his country. De Palo and Gubenko accompanied him on the podium, while Rafael Modonese (PER) and Théo Micouris (GBR) completed the top five.

Iglesias finally rewarded at world level
Titled last year on this same circuit, Marijn Kremers (NLD – Birel ART/TM Racing/Vega) shared the front row of the starting grid of the FIA Karting World Championship – KZ with Jeremy Iglesias (FRA – Formula K/TM Racing/Vega). The start was postponed by ten minutes to allow a brief rain shower to pass. Iglesias started in the lead, but Kremers pursued him after a few laps. The Frenchman responded and the Dutchman had to resist the more pressing threat from his compatriot Bas Lammers (Sodi/TM Racing/Vega) and Fabian Federer (ITA – Maranello/TM Racing/Vega). Iglesias took advantage of this to pull out a gap of about a second which he managed until the finish line. He won on behalf of the official Formula K team against Kremers, Lammers took third place and Federer finished fourth. Riccardo Longhi (ITA – Birel ART/TM Racing/Vega) finished fifth, followed by Stan Pex (NLD – KR/TM Racing/Vega) after a nice nine-place comeback.

Lonato : Iglesias Champion du Monde KZ, Cunati vainqueur KZ2 et Elkin en Académie
Au terme de belles Finales, le Français Jérémy Iglesias a été couronné Champion du Monde FIA Karting – KZ. L’Italien Simone Cunati a remporté la Super Coupe Internationale FIA Karting – KZ2 et l’Israélien Ariel Elkin s’est imposé dans la Finale du Trophée Académie FIA Karting tandis que l’Américain Connor Zilisch remportait le Trophée.
Cette fois, le temps n’a pas perturbé le déroulement de l’épreuve, bien que les quelques gouttes tombées sur la grille de départ de la Finale KZ aient semé le doute un instant. Les dernières Manches Qualificatives disputées dans la matinée ont achevé de fixer la liste des finalistes. La Finale de l’Académie a indiscutablement été la plus passionnante avec ses changements de leaders et ses nombreux rebondissements. Ariel Elkin était le premier Israélien à remporter une course internationale FIA Karting. Les victoires de Cunati en KZ2 comme d’Iglesias en KZ ont récompensé les meilleurs de chaque catégorie au terme de compétition sportive de très haute qualité.
Cunati s’impose en Super Coupe KZ2
La hiérarchie de la Super Coupe Internationale FIA Karting – KZ2 a évolué lors des dernières Manches Qualificatives et à cause de l’application d’une sanction à l’encontre de Viktor Gustavsson (SWE – Birel ART/TM Racing/Vega) concernant une Manche du samedi : une disqualification pour poids non conforme. Simone Cunati (ITA – Birel ART/TM Racing/Vega) se retrouvait en pole position pour le départ de la Finale et savait exploiter son avantage tout au long des 25 tours. Poursuivi par Arthur Carbonnel (FRA – Sodi/TM Racing/Vega) au 3e passage, il répliquait et s’envolait vers une nette victoire avec plus de 1,5’’ d’avance. Vice-Champion d’Europe FIA Karting – KZ2, Cunati roulait au sein d’un team privé, Modena Kart ASD, et réussissait à devancer plusieurs équipes officielles.
La compétition pour les premières places a été intense. Parti 7e, Giuseppe Palomba (ITA – Birel ART/TM Racing/Vega) atteignait la seconde position au 9e tour et tenait le rythme jusqu’au bout. Il se classait second 4 dixièmes devant Giacomo Pollini (ITA – Formula K/TM Racing/Vega). Leonardo Marseglia (ITA – Birel ART/TM Racing/Vega) récupérait sa 4e position après des premiers tours difficiles. Danilo Albanese (ITA- KR/Iame/Vega) effectuait une belle course en remontant de la 17e à la 5e place. Six Pilotes italiens terminaient dans les 6 premiers. Les douze Pilotes n’ayant pas rallié l’arrivée attestait de l’intensité de la course.

Victoire d’Elkin, Zilisch couronné en Académie
L’issue du Trophée Académie FIA Karting 2020 était acquise à l’Américain Connor Zilisch, mais la Compétition n’en a pas moins été très animée pour les 31 participants au volant de leur Exprit/Vortex/Vega monotype.
Parti en pole position, Aleksander Gubenko (RUS) cédait la tête de la course à Matteo De Palo (ITA). Connor Zilisch (USA) et Macéo Capietto (FRA) renonçaient après un incident. Pendant ce temps, Ariel Elkin (ISR) entamait une magnifique remontée depuis la 11e position. Il réussissait une manoeuvre décisive dans le dernier tour pour franchir la ligne d’arrivée en vainqueur, une première à ce niveau pour son pays. De Palo et Gubenko l’accompagnaient sur le podium tandis que Rafael Modonese (PER) et Théo Micouris (GBR) complétaient le top 5.

Iglesias enfin récompensé au niveau mondial
Titré l’an dernier sur ce même circuit, Marijn Kremers (NLD – Birel ART/TM Racing/Vega) partageait la première ligne de la grille de départ du Championnat du Monde FIA Karting – KZ avec Jérémy Iglesias (FRA – Formula K/TM Racing/Vega). Le départ était repoussé de dix minutes pour laisser passer une petite pluie. Iglesias partait en tête, mais Kremers le poursuivait quelques tours. Le Français répliquait et le Néerlandais devait résister à la menace plus pressante de son compatriote Bas Lammers (Sodi/TM Racing/Vega) et de Fabian Federer (ITA – Maranello/TM Racing/Vega). Iglesias en profiter pour creuse un écart d’environ une seconde qu’il gérait jusqu’à l’arrivée. Il s’imposait pour le compte du team officiel Formula K face à Kremers, Lammers prenait la 3e place, Federer terminait 4e. Riccardo Longhi (ITA – Birel ART/TM Racing/Vega) terminait 5e, suivi par Stan Pex (NLD – KR/TM Racing/Vega) après une belle remontée de 9 places.

Lonato: Iglesias Campione del mondo KZ, Cunati vincitore nella KZ2 ed Elkin nell’Academy
Al termine di una serie di belle finali, il francese Jérémy Iglesias si è laureato campione del mondo FIA Karting – KZ. L’italiano Simone Cunati ha vinto l’International Super Cup FIA Karting – KZ2 e l’israeliano Ariel Elkin si è imposto nella finale dell’Academy Trophy FIA Karting, mentre l’americano Connor Zilisch si è aggiudicato il trofeo.
Questa volta il meteo non ha disturbato lo svolgimento della prova anche se alcune gocce cadute sulla griglia di partenza della finale KZ hanno per un momento instillato il dubbio. Le ultime manche di qualificazione disputate nella mattinata hanno determinato la lista dei finalisti. La finale dell’Academy è stata senza dubbio quella più appassionante dove in testa si sono alternati vari leader e numerosi sono stati i colpi di scena. Ariel Elkin è stato il primo israeliano a vincere una gara internazionale FIA Karting. Le vittorie di Cunati nella KZ2 come di Iglesias nella KZ hanno premiato i migliori di ogni categoria al termine di competizione sportive di altissima qualità.
Cunati vince la Super Cup KZ2
La gerarchia dell’International Super Cup FIA Karting – KZ2 è cambiata in occasione delle ultime manche di qualificazione e a causa dell’applicazione di una sanzione nei confronti di Viktor Gustavsson (SWE – Birel ART/TM Racing/Vega) relativa a una manche di sabato: una squalifica per peso non conforme. Simone Cunati (ITA – Birel ART/TM Racing/Vega) si è ritrovato in pole position alla partenza della finale e ha saputo sfruttare il suo vantaggio nel corso dei 25 giri. Inseguito da Arthur Carbonnel (FRA – Sodi/TM Racing/Vega) al terzo passaggio, ha replicato ed è volato verso una vittoria netta con oltre 1,5’’ di vantaggio. Vicecampione europeo FIA Karting – KZ2, Cunati ha corso in un team privato, Modena Kart ASD, ed è riuscito a precedere vari team ufficiali.
Il concorso per i primi posti è stato intenso. Partito settimo, Giuseppe Palomba (ITA – Birel ART/TM Racing/Vega) ha raggiunto la seconda posizione al nono giro e ha tenuto il passo fino alla fine. Si è classificato secondo distaccando di quattro decimi Giacomo Pollini (ITA – Formula K/TM Racing/Vega). Leonardo Marseglia (ITA – Birel ART/TM Racing/Vega) ha recuperato la sua quarta posizione dopo i primi giri difficili. Danilo Albanese (ITA- KR/Iame/Vega) ha realizzato una bella gara rimontando dal 17° al quinto posto. Sei piloti italiani hanno terminato nelle prime sei posizioni. I dodici piloti che non sono riusciti a raggiungere il traguardo dimostrano l’intensità della gara

Anche se il titolo Academy Trophy FIA Karting 2020 era scontato andasse all’americano Connor Zilisch, la gara è stata comunque molto animata per i 31 partecipanti al volante del loro Exprit/Vortex/Vega monotipo.
Partito in pole position, Aleksander Gubenko (RUS) ha ceduto la testa della gara a Matteo De Palo (ITA). Connor Zilisch (USA) e Macéo Capietto (FRA) hanno rinunciato dopo un incidente. Intanto, Ariel Elkin (ISR) si accingeva a fare una magnifica rimonta dall’undicesimo posto. Ha una mossa decisiva nell’ultimo giro tagliando vittorioso il traguardo, la prima volta a questo livello per il suo paese. De Palo e Gubenko lo hanno seguito sul podio mentre Rafael Modonese (PER) e Théo Micouris (GBR) hanno completato la Top-5.

Iglesias infine premiato a livello mondiale
Vincitore del titolo lo scorso anno su questo stesso circuito, Marijn Kremers (NLD – Birel ART/TM Racing/Vega) ha condiviso la prima fila della griglia di partenza del Campionato mondiale FIA Karting – KZ con Jérémy Iglesias (FRA – Formula K/TM Racing/Vega). La partenza è stata ritardata di dieci minuti per lasciare passare un piccolo rovescio. Iglesias è partito in testa, ma Kremers lo inseguiva per qualche giro. Il francese ha replicato e l’olandese ha dovuto resistere alla minaccia più pressante del suo compatriota Bas Lammers (Sodi/TM Racing/Vega) e di Fabian Federer (ITA – Maranello/TM Racing/Vega). Iglesias ne approfitta per colmare un distacco di circa un secondo che ha gestito fino all’arrivo. Si è imposto per conto del team ufficiale Formula K di fronte a Kremers, Lammers ha conquistato il terzo posto, Federer è terminato al quarto. Riccardo Longhi (ITA – Birel ART/TM Racing/Vega) ha terminato al quinto, seguito da Stan Pex (NLD – KR/TM Racing/Vega) dopo una bella rimonta di nove posizioni.
