Promotion for Sci Club 13 and CAI Clusone that in the first weekend of March will host the third race of Skialp 2013 World Cup.
Several times Italian vertical/relay championship, Italian Cup race and Individual race national Championsip, Memorial Angelo Castelletti has been included in the world élite Ski Mountaineering events as third race of ISMF World Cup circuit, after Ski Alp Race in Valle Aurina (12/13 January) and the Swiss kermesse AlpiniSki on 25/26 January. «For us, for our valley and the whole province of Bergamo it is a dream that comes true – said with satisfaction the responsible of the Organizing Committee Silvio Baronchelli – By the way, we do not consider it an arrival point but a springboard that will allow us to show to an even higher number of people the sport we love and to make them appreciate it».
Dates to mark on calendar are March 1st, 2nd and 3rd : «We expect three days of pure passion: on Friday evening in Clusone is planned the parade of national delegations followed, in a heated tensioned-structure in Piazza Manzù, by the technical briefing, the dinner with athletes open to public and then Music & Beer Party with the show of the current slackline World champion Lukas Huber».
Saturday and Sunday there will be a succession of races and spectacular events related to the outdoor world: «Our idea is to add to the two competitions, the sprint race on Saturday and the classic Individual Race Sunday, a series of “high level side-events†that bring a lot of people nearer to the ski-alp world – continues Baronchelli -. For young people we’ll propose a trampoline to jump with ski landing on Big Air Bag and Slackline … this will be open to the public with the presence of real icons of freestyle; we want that in these 3 days all the world of snow, and not only those of ski mountaineering, orbits around our SKI ALP 3».
Concerning race routes we are considering two possibilities: «Weather fronts occurring in the last days are giving us a good help, but we prefer to wait a little longer to choose the definitive location – concluded -. In any case, having two alternatives on south and north face of Presolana we are not worried. In the past we have already tested these two alternatives both in good and bad condition of snow. I can tell you that, in both cases, the show is granted».
Note that, after the race in our province, the 2013 World Cup circuit continues in Principality of Andorra on 9/10 March, while the final races will be held in Tromso, Norway, on 13/14 April.
