The young and talented Maya Weug is experiencing a beautiful story.
The first female driver in history to join the Ferrari Driver Academy, she has seen several strokes of luck influencing her destiny in recent years. Birel ART is proud to have contributed in her rise to fame in motor sport with the support of the Richard Mille Young Talent Academy.
Born in June 2004, Maya started making a name for herself in karting in the Mini category in 2016 with a notable victory in the WSK Final Cup. After two promising seasons in OK-Junior, she was selected by the Richard Mille Young Talent Academy to make her debut in the OK category with the Birel ART Racing Team. Fast as soon as she arrived at the Italian team in 2019, she was able to develop her talents and gain maturity in the professional structure of the Lissone team in 2020. Combative and determined, Maya made several remarkable comebacks in international finals and obtained very interesting results. At the same time, she became familiar with data acquisition and worked closely with the team’s technicians.
Prepared optimally by her two seasons in the Richard Mille Young Talent Academy, Maya has gone through all the stages of the “Girls on Track – Rising Stars” programme of the FIA Women in Motorsport Commission one by one. In 2021, she has become the first woman to join the prestigious Ferrari Driver Academy to compete in the FIA F4 category.

Maya Weug: due stagioni con Birel ART prima di unirsi alla Ferrari Driver Academy
La giovane e talentuosa Maya Weug sta vivendo una bella storia. Prima pilota donna della storia a entrare a far parte della Ferrari Driver Academy, da alcuni anni il destino le sorride. Birel ART è quindi fiera di avere contribuito alla sua ascesa negli sport automobilistici con il supporto della Richard Mille Young Talent Academy.
Nata in giugno 2004, Maya ha iniziato a far parlare di sé nel karting nella categoria Mini nel 2016 con una straordinaria vittoria in occasione della WSK Final Cup. Dopo due stagioni promettenti nella OK-Junior, è stata selezionata dalla Richard Mille Young Talent Academy per debuttare nella categoria OK all’interno del Racing Team Birel Art. Veloce sin dal suo arrivo nella squadra italiana nel 2019, ha potuto sviluppare il suo talento e acquisire una certa maturità nella struttura professionale di Lissone nel 2020. Combattiva e determinata, Maya ha così realizzato varie e importanti rimonte in occasione delle finali internazionali e ottenuto dei risultati molto interessanti. In parallelo ha famigliarizzato con le acquisizioni di dati e il lavorare a stretto contatto con i tecnici dell’equipe.
Preparata nel miglior modo possibile nelle due stagioni passate nella Richard Mille Young Talent Academy, Maya ha raggiunto, ad una ad una, tutte le tappe del programma “Girls on Track – Rising Stars” della Commissione Women in Motorsport della FIA. Nel 2021 sarà la prima donna a far parte della prestigiosa Ferrari Driver Academy per girare in F4 FIA.

Maya Weug : deux saisons avec Birel ART avant de rejoindre la Ferrari Driver Academy
C’est une très belle histoire qu’est en train de vivre la jeune et talentueuse Maya Weug. Première pilote féminine de l’histoire à intégrer la Ferrari Driver Academy, elle a vu plusieurs fées se pencher sur son destin depuis quelques années. Birel ART est ainsi fière d’avoir contribué à son ascension dans le sport automobile avec le soutien de la Richard Mille Young Talent Academy.
Née en juin 2004, Maya a commencé à faire parler d’elle en karting dans la catégorie Mini en 2016 avec une victoire remarquée lors de la WSK Final Cup. Après deux saisons prometteuses en OK-Junior, elle a été sélectionnée par la Richard Mille Young Talent Academy pour faire ses débuts en catégorie OK au sein du Birel ART Racing Team. Rapide dès son arrivée dans l’équipe italienne en 2019, elle a pu développer ses talents et gagner en maturité dans la structure professionnelle de Lissone en 2020. Combative et déterminée, Maya a ainsi effectué plusieurs remontées remarquées lors de finales internationales et obtenu des résultats très intéressants. Parallèlement, elle s’est familiarisée avec les acquisitions de données et liaison étroite avec les techniciens de l’équipe.
Préparée de la meilleure manière possible par ses deux saisons au sein de la Richard Mille Young Talent Academy, Maya a franchi une à une toutes les étapes du programme “Girls on Track – Rising Stars“ de la Commission Women in Motorsport de la FIA. Elle devient en 2021 la première féminine à intégrer la prestigieuse Ferrari Driver Academy pour évoluer en F4 FIA.
