Juan Manuel Correa’s return to F2 can be described as brilliant and exciting. The American driver finished eighth on the first day of testing at the Yas Marina circuit in Abu Dhabi, where he will continue testing with the Charouz Racing System team until Saturday.
On this first day of testing, Juan Manuel completed a total of 71 laps, achieving a fastest time of 1’36″886, which was good enough for him to be eighth among the 22 drivers who participated in this first day of testing, which in a way is the starting signal for the 2022 season of the FIA Formula 2 championship, and this despite having a lot of traffic on his fast laps. Juan Manuel’s ideal lap time, taking into account his fastest sectors, would have been 1’36″300, which means a good margin for improvement, taking into account that this is his first day in an F2 car.
