Energy Corse was clearly one of the most competitive teams in the first round of the FIA Karting European Championships. In OK, Tomass Stolcermanis came close to victory in the Final at Portimao. Unfortunately, his spoiler moved slightly, resulting in a penalty that relegated him to 7th place. In OK-Junior, Energy Corse placed two drivers in the top 10 with Jules Caranta and Martin Molnar, two great revelations of the meeting. From race to race, the Italian team keeps confirming its high level performances, due to the competence of its technical staff and partners.
In the WSK in Italy, in the Champions of the Future Euro Series and in FIA Karting, Energy Corse continues its quest for the podium, accompanying its drivers to the top in the optimum conditions. “I am really happy with the work done by the technical team and the atmosphere in our awning,” said Mick Panigada, team manager. “Since the beginning of the year, no matter what type or brand of tyre we use, our chassis has proved to be formidable. Our engine tuner GFR provides us with very effective TM engines and we manage to get the best out of them, with the technical support of the experienced Luigina Guerrini and Simone Sorio. I thank them for their valuable work. We also had an emotional moment when Andres Cardenas, Jules Caranta and Martin Molnar crossed the finish line in 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions in one of the OK-Junior heats on Saturday.”
Three Energy Corse drivers in the top 10 on the Final grid
In OK, the event started with the magnificent pole position achieved by Tomass Stolcermanis. In the heats and in the Super Heat, the Latvian secured his place in the leading group and went into action in the Final. He was in 4th place for several laps, and was in 2nd place at the halfway point of the race. Despite the advantage taken by the leader, he managed to come back to his wake, but he needed an extra lap to pass him. A penalty due to a shifted spoiler deprived him of the podium, but Tomass showed that he was a contender for the European Champion title.
In the OK-Junior class, all the Energy Corse riders were fast on the selective southern Portuguese track. Alexander Dahlstrom and Jensen Burnett set surprisingly fast lap times in the heats. However, the Finn suffered a problem in Qualifying which made his weekend more difficult, while the Canadian did not have the success he had hoped for.
Martin Molnar, Andres Cardenas and Jules Caranta all placed 3rd, 4th and 9th respectively in Qualifying and were all potential podium finishers. Cardenas went on to win two Qualifying Heats. Unfortunately, the Peruvian dropped out of a race on one occasion and fell down in the points table, complicating the rest of his competition. Molnar managed a brilliant clear round. The Hungarian continued his effort in the Final and achieved the best result of his FIA Karting career by finishing 9th.
As for the Frenchman Jules Caranta, he managed his best performance since his debut in OK-Junior. His 2nd place in the Super Heat spoke volumes about his competitiveness. In the Final, he fought bravely, taking 7th place in the last lap!

Energy Corse è stata chiaramente una delle squadre più competitive nella prima prova del Campionato europeo FIA Karting. Nella OK, Tomass Stolcermanis ha sfiorato la vittoria in finale a Portimao. Sfortunatamente, il suo spoiler si è spostato leggermente, causando una penalità che lo ha relegato al settimo posto. Nella OK-Junior, Energy Corse ha piazzato due piloti nella Top-10, Jules Caranta e Martin Molnar, due grandi rivelazioni del meeting. Tre piloti Energy Corse nella Top-10 sulla griglia della finale
Nella OK, l’evento è iniziato con la magnifica pole position ottenuta da Tomass Stolcermanis. Nelle manche e nella Super-Heat, il lettone si è assicurato un posto nel gruppo di testa ed è entrato in azione nella finale. Quarto per diversi giri, a metà gara si trovava al secondo posto. Nonostante il vantaggio del leader, è riuscito a tornare nella sua scia, ma ci sarebbe voluto un giro in più per superarlo. Una penalità dovuta a uno spoiler spostato lo ha privato del podio, ma Tomass ha dimostrato di avere tutte le carte in regola per giocarsi il titolo di campione europeo.
Nella OK-Junior, tutti i piloti Energy Corse sono stati veloci sul selettivo circuito del sud del Portogallo. Alexander Dahlstrom e Jensen Burnett hanno stabilito tempi sul giro sorprendentemente veloci nelle manche. Ma il finlandese ha avuto un problema sin dalle qualifiche che ha reso il suo fine settimana molto difficile, mentre il canadese non ha avuto il successo che aveva sperato.
Martin Molnar, Andres Cardenas e Jules Caranta rispettivamente terzo, quarto e nono nelle sessioni di qualifica erano tutti dei potenziali candidati al podio. Cardenas ha poi vinto due manche di qualificazione. Purtroppo, il peruviano si è dovuto ritirare in una gara e il mancato guadagno di punti ha complicato il resto della sua competizione. Molnar è riuscito a fare una brillante percorso netto nelle manche. L’ungherese ha continuato il suo sforzo in finale e ha ottenuto il miglior risultato della sua carriera FIA Karting classificandosi nono.
Per quanto riguarda il francese Jules Caranta, ha fatto la sua migliore prestazione dal suo debutto nella OK-Junior. Il suo secondo posto nella Super-Heat la dice lunga sulla sua competitività. In finale, ha combattuto coraggiosamente, conquistando il settimo posto all’ultimo giro!

En OK-Junior, Energy Corse place deux pilotes dans le top-10 avec Jules Caranta et Martin Molnar, deux grandes révélations du meeting. De course en course, le team italien ne cesse de confirmer ses performances de très haut niveau, dues à la compétence de son staff technique et de ses partenaires.

3 pilotes Energy Corse dans le top-10 sur la grille de la finale
En OK, l’épreuve a commencé avec la magnifique pole position réalisée par Tomass Stolcermanis. Dans les manches et en super manche, le Letton assurait sa place dans le groupe de tête et passait à l’action en finale. Pointé 4e durant plusieurs tours, il accédait à la 2e place à la mi-course. Malgré l’avance prise par le leader, il parvenait à revenir dans son sillage, mais il lui aura manqué un tour supplémentaire pour le doubler. Une pénalité consécutive à un spoiler décalé le privait du podium, mais Tomass a montré qu’il fallait compter sur lui pour le titre de Champion d’Europe.
En OK-Junior, tous les pilotes engagés par Energy Corse se sont montrés rapides sur le tracé sélectif du sud du Portugal. Alexander Dahlstrom et Jensen Burnett ont réalisé des temps au tour surprenants dans les manches. Mais le Finlandais a connu un problème dès les essais qualificatifs qui a largement compliqué son week-end, tandis que le Canadien n’a pas rencontré la réussite escomptée.
En se classant respectivement 3e, 4e et 9e des essais qualificatifs, Martin Molnar, Andres Cardenas et Jules Caranta se positionnaient tous comme dans des candidats potentiels au podium. Par la suite, Cardenas remportait deux manches de qualification. Hélas, le Péruvien abandonnait à une reprise et chutait au cumul des points, compliquant la suite de sa compétition. Molnar a réussi un brillant sans-faute dans les manches. Le Hongrois poursuivait son effort en finale et décrochait le meilleur résultat de sa carrière en FIA Karting en se classant 9e.
Quant au Français Jules Caranta, il a réussi sa plus belle prestation depuis ses débuts en OK-Junior. Sa place de 2e obtenue dans la super manche en disait long sur sa compétitivité. En finale, il s’est battu avec courage, allant chercher la 7e place dans le dernier tour !
