Charouz Racing System has one last challenge in its 2022 FIA Formula 3 campaign, as the team prepares for Round 9 at Monza with an updated driver lineup. Joining the team for the race weekend at the legendary Italian track will be Alessandro Famularo, which will inherit the wheel of the #15 car and mark his debut in the series.
Alongside László Tóth and Francesco Pizzi, the young Venezuelan driver will try to give the team a positive end to a season that has often been pretty tough for the Czech squad. Monza is one of the fastest circuits in the World and, with it long straights, will offer plenty of opportunities to overtake to the drivers, that will need to understand how to take advantage of the tow both in Qualifying and in the races.
The three young talents all have previous experiences at the Temple of Speed, having raced there (often together) in the past seasons in series such as Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine,Formula Renault Eurocup and Italian F.4 Championship Powered by Abarth.
This very last weekend of the 2022 season will follow the standard schedule with Free Practice and Qualifying on Friday, the Sprint Race on Saturday morning and the Feature Race on Sunday morning.
Antonín Charouz, team owner
“One last opportunity for us to end the season on a high after so many difficulties and unlucky weekends. I won’t lie, it’s been tough this year and it would be a good thing to finish in a positive way. But I’m still proud of the team and all the drivers that drove our cars during the season, they gave their 110% in every single session and the will surely do the same at Monza this weekend. The track is fast and there will be chances to fight and gain positions in the two races, so we won’t give up until the last chequered flag”.
László Tóth
“Can’t wait to drive at Monza next weekend, it’s the third race of the triple header but we still got quite a bit of energy for this last fight. It’s a really nice and historic track, it will be something special to race there”.
Alessandro Famularo
“First of all I really want to thank the team and my sponsors for the opportunity. The aim for this weekend will be to gain experience and learn the maximum possible. I’m really excited about this and i can’t wait to go out there and drive, especially at a beautiful track like Monza”.
Francesco Pizzi
“Finish the season with my home race, at such an iconic track, I can’t really ask for more than that for this weekend. I want to get a good result in front of the Italian crowd, I know the track really well so I’m focused on doing everything in my hands to fight my way through the pack and show what we can do”.
