What a season! So many victories and so many trophies in the last few months! Bogdan Cosma-Cristofor was particularly brilliant from January to November in the Mini category, and he has also demonstrated his talent since moving up to the Junior category: four races, four podiums, including three wins. In fact, the 12-year-old Romanian has just won the Ayrton Senna Trophy at Sarno in the X30 Junior class, his last outing of an incredible 2023.

Winner of the two WSK Final Cup events at the end of November, first in the X30 Junior class and then in the OK-N Junior class, and 2nd in the Rok Festival at the beginning of December, Bogdan Cosma-Cristofor arrived at the Naples international circuit determined to build on his success. Bogdan has learned the specificities of the Junior class perfectly and is having a lot of fun in this category.

From pole position to victory
Organised in memory of Ayrton Senna for the 28th time, this prestigious event saw Bogdan go from strength to strength during the Free Practice sessions, thanks to the constant fine-tuning work with Team Driver Racing Kart, which continues to believe in Bogdan and his talent. On a dry track, the Romanian hopeful took pole position with a clear lead over his rivals. On Saturday, he remained unbeaten, setting the fastest time in the warm-up and winning both heats, each time setting a lap record.

On Sunday, the drivers woke up to rainy conditions, forcing the teams to put on rain tyres. In these conditions, Bogdan proved to be literally unbeatable. Particularly at ease in the wet, he dominated his rivals in the X30 Junior category in both Finals, adding two fastest laps to his tally. It wasn’t all plain sailing, however, as the two categories, X30 Junior and X30 Senior, were grouped together for the occasion. But Bogdan didn’t fall into this trap and achieved a convincing clear run to win the overall Ayrton Senna International Trophy at Sarno on Sunday 10th December.

His KR-IAME package, preparations by DFR Engines and the Team Driver Racing Kart obviously contributed to this remarkable result. “Thanks to my team manager Devid De Luchi for giving me all these opportunities to be in a position to win,” admitted Bogdan. “I also owe a lot to my mechanic Francesco Bruno and my coaches Catalin Caloianu and Dragos Gulie. We all make a great team. I’d also like to thank my partners: One United Properties, Black Fire, Miko Med, Miko Dental, Miko Beauty and Urban Automobile, not forgetting of course the International school of Bucharest.”
Bogdan Cosma-Cristofor’s successful end to the season certainly heralds a promising 2024.
