Kevin, Talk about your story…
“Born in France, I moved to Martinique at a young age. I was living by the water, so I was always involved in water sports. Started windsurfing, I travelled a lot until today with kiteboarding & paddleboarding. I also like Motorsports a lot and always had a big adventurer life”.
Do you practice a lot of sports? Which one is your favorite ?
“I practice many sports, most likely water sports, kiteboarding is one of my favorites but I like anything fun and challenging”.
Do you practice extreme sports?
“Kiteboarding is one of the very extreme sports but I always practice it respecting myself and the others. Let ‘s say that for me nothing is crazy, I always like to try new things and I’m quite creative when it comes to experiments. I have for instance lately tried to Wakesurf with The Kustom Paddle Miami Series Inflatable and that was a chalenge ! Kiteboarding in virgin spots and difficult access or rough conditions, building Kustoms and discovering new places are my extreme kind of stuff”
You were born in France, Lived in Martinique, how come are you in Miami Now? How many languages are you actually speaking?
“Crazy City for crazy people ! More working opportunities and try to build something big. I do speak French, English, Creole and understand Italian”
Give us some of your work experiences?
“Windsurfing industry, Selling cars, have done a lot of import/export, catering, modeling but I’m now concentrating on my passion. I have the chance to be the owner and designer of my own action sports brand : www.kustomcompanies.com”
Are you still actually modeling ?
“Not much, some shoots when travelling but my life is always related to the camera anyway. Always shooting products, assisting with the photoshoots, posing for press”.
Have you ever been shy in front of the camera?
“For me it’s always a game, very natural!”
What was your dream as a kid?
“I always wanted to do something related to my passion and be able to make a living of of it!”
What did you study?
“I have studied business but I most likely learnt from the life experience. Travelling a lot, I meet a lot of people and get a lot of experience listening to them. I still have the chance to learn everyday and use it for my business”.
How did you think about paddleboards and how come about Miami?
“Kiteboarding is very extreme and target an extremely small group of people. On the other side, paddleboard is extremely accessible to a huge population”.
“In Miami specially, people look for fun things to do. The city is offering a perfect playground in between canals on the intracoastal and small waves on the ocean side. Only one problem is to store and carry huge boards around. That’s how we got to think about the inflatable concept:
– Easy to transport and store since it fits in a bag
– Convenient for the boaters (a lot of them in Miami!. Our boards do not damage the boats and are very strong”
Where is the passion for watersports coming from?
“From my love for the ocean and the natural elements”
Have you ever been to Hawaii?
“Not yet but soon!”
You’ve been with Claudia for two years, how do you manage?
“It is very easy! She’s amazing! No need to really manage, 2 different personalities but we are very identical for the important points in life and really understand each other”
How did you get her?
“With a lot of patience and showing that every world has a meaning!”
Whats the secret of your relationship?
“Mutual honesty”
Aren’t you jealous of the paparazzi around?
“Why should I?”
Is she Jealous of you?
“Yes, but I’m trying to do my best to not give her any reason to be”
Have you ever visited Italy?
“Yes of course! Claudia and I went twice already in 2 years… Drove from North to South and will be there soon again”
Tell us about the most important moment in your life?
“Travelling around with my Family and friends. The day I decided to move to Miami to build a new life and everyday since I can follow my passion with the one I love”.
Good and bad sides of your personality?
“Serious and determined but to stubborn and perfectionist”
How do you stay in shape ?
“Easy to stay in shape paddling, kiting, skating and more … pretty much everyday”
What do you look for in a girl?
“I look at her in the eyes in order to understand many things”
What “In Love” means to you?
“Sharing the best and the worst”
Talk about your typical day.
“I dont have a typical day. I’m spending a lot of time in the water but also a lot on my computer. Events and conventions are taking a lot of my time as well when not travelling to discover and understand better my markets”
What is the craziest things you have done for love or for work?
“I have been fighting for what I believed in”
What are you planning for later?
“I hope to keep on doing the same and expanding my company”
What will you do in the near future?
“I will travel around in order to present and place our products in most countries & work with the production side to document all our adventures”
