In the wake of the Winter Cup, the performances of the Birel Art Racing drivers were at their peak at the first KZ2 meeting of the WSK Super Master Series at the Lonato circuit.
The results have improved compared to the previous week as Kremers mounted the Final podium while Irlando was in the top five and Dahlberg reached the top ten. Coluccio was also very competitive in OK.
“We can be satisfied with the weekend’s performance of this as it was better overall than last week,” said Ronni Sala, President of Birel ART Group. “Irlando and Kremers were able to fight with the best in the top three of KZ2, which is an important point early in the season, and Dahlberg continued to climb the rankings. Marseglia also did some great things in Qualifying and in the heats. This confirms that we have a very competitive chassis / engine package with TM Racing, in our second race. Needless to say, the team is extremely motivated to further improve our potential.”
Leonardo Marseglia clearly upped the pace this weekend with 14th in Qualifying and 5th place in a heat with the fastest lap. The smile of Alexander Dahlberg was a pleasure to see: the 5th place in the Prefinal, confirmed by 10th in the Final, were definitely something to cheer this promising driver.
Alex Irlando had a great run at the wheel of his new Birel ART / TM Racing kart. Visibly more comfortable than during his first race, he ensured very good Qualifying Heats before running 2nd place in the Final during a fierce battle. His 5th place is a reward appreciated by the team.
“I am very happy to be on the podium of Lonato, especially with the pain of a rib injury from a heat at the Winter Cup,” said Marijn Kremers in front of the cameras, before adding off the microphone: “It is very enjoyable for a driver to be able to fight using such efficient equipment. Confidence reigns in the team, we have a good working atmosphere and these first results encourage us to continue our efforts”. After two fastest laps and a win in the heats, Marijn fought a very good battle to finish 3rd.
Luigi Coluccio had three great heats in the top three, but a retirement increased his score before the Finals. He managed to reach 3rd position in his Prefinal, before being slowed down by a carburettor problem in the Final and finishing 8th. In OK-Junior, Cristian Bertucca ensured a strong Final comeback of 17 places to finish 12th after some disappointments during Qualifying.
Un podio KZ2 per iniziare la WSK Super Master
Nella continuità della Winter Cup, le performance dei piloti del Team Birel ART Racing sono state all’altezza per questo primo appuntamento KZ2 della WSK Super Master Serie sul circuito di Lonato. I risultati sono migliorati rispetto alla settimana scorsa poiché Kremers è salito sul podio finale mentre Irlando si è posizionato tra i Top-5 e Dahlberg ha raggiunto la Top-10. Anche Coluccio è stato molto competitivo nella OK.
“Possiamo ritenerci soddisfatti delle performance di questo week-end in quanto sono in generale superiori a quelle della settimana scorsa”, ha dichiarato Ronni Sala, Presidente di Birel ART Group. “Irlando e Kremers hanno potuto battersi con i migliori nella Top-3 della KZ2, elemento importante a inizio stagione, e Dahlberg ha continuato la sua progressione verso le posizioni di testa. Anche Marseglia ha realizzato delle belle performance nelle prove cronometrate e nelle manche. Ciò conferma che abbiamo un pacchetto telaio/motore molto competitivo con TM Racing, sin dalla nostra seconda gara. Inutile dire che il team è molto motivato ad aumentare sempre più il nostro potenziale.”
Leonardo Marseglia, nel corso di questo week-end, ha alzato in maniera netta il ritmo con un 14° tempo nelle prove cronometrate e un quinto posto in una delle manche accompagnato dal giro più veloce. È stato un piacere vedere il sorriso di Alexander Dahlberg: un quinto posto nella prefinale, confermato dal decimo posto finale sono risultati che possono in effetti rendere felice questo promettente pilota.
Alex Irlando ha fatto un bel percorso al volante del suo nuovo kart Birel ART/TM Racing. Visibilmente più a suo agio rispetto alla prima gara, ha fatto delle ottime manche di qualificazione, per poi occupare per un po’ la seconda posizione in finale nel corso di una bella battaglia. Il suo quinto posto è un risultato apprezzato dal team.
“Sono molto contento di essere salito sul podio di Lonato, soprattutto con il dolore di un infortunio alle costole che mi sono procurato durante una manche della Winter Cup”, ha dichiarato Marijn Kremers alle telecamere, prima di aggiungere a telecamere spende: “È un grande piacere per un pilota potersi battere al volante di un mezzo così efficace. La fiducia regna sovrana nel team, l’atmosfera in cui lavoriamo è buona e questi primi risultati ci spingono a proseguire i nostri sforzi.” Autore di due giri più veloci e di una vittoria nelle manche, Marijn Kremers ha dato vita a una bella battaglia per conquistare il terzo posto.
Luigi Coluccio è riuscito a fare tre belle manche nella Top-3, ma un ritiro ha appesantito il suo punteggio prima delle fasi finali. È tuttavia riuscito a conquistare il terzo posto nella sua prefinale, prima di essere rallentato da un problema al carburatore in finale e terminare all’ottavo posto. Nella OK-Junior Cristian Bertucca si è espresso in una rimonta straordinaria di 17 posizioni per terminare 12° dopo alcune delusioni durante le qualificazioni.
Un podium KZ2 pour commencer la WSK Super Master
Dans la continuité de la Winter Cup, les performances des pilotes du Birel Art Racing ont été à la hauteur pour ce premier rendez-vous KZ2 de la WSK Super Master Series sur le circuit de Lonato. Les résultats ont bien progressé par rapport à la semaine précédente puisque Kremers est monté sur le podium final tandis qu’Irlando rentrait dans le top 5 et que Dahlberg atteignait le top 10. Coluccio a également été très compétitif en OK.
« Nous pouvons nous montrer satisfaits des performances de ce week-end puisqu’elles sont globalement supérieures à celles de la semaine dernière », analysait Ronni Sala, le Président de Birel ART Group. « Irlando et Kremers ont pu se battre avec les meilleurs dans le top 3 de la KZ2, ce qui est un point important en début de saison, et Dahlberg a continué monter dans la hiérarchie. Marseglia a également réalisé de très belles choses au chrono et dans les manches. Cela confirme que nous avons un package châssis/moteur très compétitif avec TM Racing dès notre deuxième course. Inutile de dire que l’équipe est extrêmement motivée pour faire encore progresser notre potentiel. »
Leonardo Marseglia a nettement haussé le rythme ce week-end avec un 14e chrono et une 5e position dans une manche accompagnée du meilleur tour. Le sourire d’Alexander Dahlberg faisait plaisir à voir : une 5e place en préfinale confirmée par la 10e position finale ont en effet de quoi réjouir ce pilote prometteur.
Alex Irlando a réussi un beau parcours au volant de son nouvel ensemble Birel ART/TM Racing. Visiblement plus à l’aise que lors de sa première course, il a assuré de très bonnes manches qualificatives avant de prendre quelque temps la 2e place en finale au cours d’un bel affrontement. Sa 5e place est une récompense appréciée par l’équipe.
« Je suis très heureux d’être sur le podium de Lonato, surtout avec la douleur d’une blessure aux côtes pendant une manche de la Winter Cup », a déclaré Marijn Kremers face aux caméras, avant d’ajouter hors micro : « C’est un grand plaisir pour un pilote que de pouvoir se battre au volant d’un matériel aussi efficace. La confiance règne dans l’équipe, nous travaillons dans une bonne ambiance et ces premiers résultats nous incitent à poursuivre nos efforts ». Auteur de deux meilleurs tours et d’une victoire dans les manches, Marijn a livré une très belle bataille pour terminer 3e.

Il a pourtant réussi à rejoindre la 3e position de sa préfinale, avant d’être ralenti pas un souci de carburateur en finale et de finir 8e. En OK-Junior, Cristian Bertucca assurait une belle remontée finale de 17 places pour finir 12e après quelques déconvenues lors des qualifications.
