With the aim of boosting awareness of the environment and sustainability among residents and visitors to the city, Barcelona Tourist Bus is promoting reuse of the headphones that its passengers use for listening to the commentary in different languages.
Since this spring bins have been installed on Barcelona Tourist Bus’s whole fleet of buses (74 vehicles) with the message Recycle your headphones here. Thank you! in three languages (English, Spanish and Catalan). This message is also a slogan that can be heard on the audio guide system that is given to the passengers when they buy their tickets and which is available in 16 languages.
When the bus returns to the garage at the end of the day, the bins are emptied and the headphones are sent for recycling.
