19 names have been confirmed by the Racing department of the Italian company, which will be present in all categories, from Mini to KZ, OKJ, OK and KZ2. They will soon be joined by a driver from the “Richard Mille Young Talent Academy” programme who is still to be nominated.
Birel ART Racing has officially announced the list of drivers for the 2021 season, which is now ready to start. Starting from the top category of karting, KZ will feature the trio of the Dutchman Marijn Kremers, Italian Riccardo Longhi and Sweden’s Douglas Lundberg. Kremers, the KZ World Champion in 2019 with Birel ART and European Champion in 2020 with Ricciardo Kart, is certainly aiming for a new world success after coming close to victory in 2020 with 2nd place. For Longhi, Vice-World Champion in KZ in 2019 and winner of the WSK Euro Series in 2020, the aim is to continue conquering further prestigious goals with Birel ART. Lundberg, a new face to the Italian team, will rely on Renda Motorsport to defend the colours of Birel ART, but will participate in the FIA European and World Karting Championships with the official team.
In KZ2, Birel ART Racing will field the Italians Giuseppe Palomba and Alessio Piccini in addition to the Thai driver Sutumno Thanapongpan. Palomba, Italian Champion and 2nd in the FIA International Karting Super Cup in 2020, will take to the track to reinforce his presence at the forefront of the international scene. For the newcomer Piccini, the first objective is to quickly familiarise himself with his new equipment in order to be able to fight for the top places in the category. It is a brand new adventure in KZ2 for Thanapongpan, who last season was involved with Birel ART Racing in the Senior category of direct drive karts.
As far as the OK category is concerned, the Italian factory has three familiar faces: the Brazilian Matheus Morgatto, the Italian Cristian Bertuca and the Polish Tymoteusz Kucharczyk, who will make his debut in the top category of direct drive karting in the colours of RK after having been a formidable protagonist in OKJ. The Russian Violentii Nicolay, the Uzbek Ismail Akhmedkhadjaev and the Polish Max Angelard join this trio.
In OKJ, the focus is on young recruits from Mini: the Colombian Hanna Hernandez, Dutchman Keeren Thijs, Finland’s Kini Tani and Brazilian Aurelia Nobels will be absolute rookies in the category. Frenchman Matteo Spirgel will be the only one in his second Junior year, but in his first at international level.
Birel ART Racing will also have an official presence in the Mini category. In fact, a development programme will start in 2021 to support the category dedicated to the youngest drivers, in close collaboration with Alessandro Manetti, double World Champion, who will be in charge of this new project. The first official driver will be the Belgian Dries Van Langendonck.
Finally, the “Richard Mille Young Talent Academy” programme continues, with the announcement of a new driver expected soon. Confirming the value of this project, after two seasons with Birel ART Racing under the Richard Mille colours, Maya Weug recently won the “Girls on track – Rising Stars” initiative, created by “FIA Women in Motorsport”. This is a result that will give her prestigious access to the world of single-seater racing, as she will be part of the Ferrari Driver Academy, a historic first for a female driver.

Sono 19 i nomi ufficializzati dal reparto Racing della Casa italiana che sarà presente in tutte le categorie, dalla Mini alla KZ, passando per OKJ, OK e KZ2. A questi si aggiungerà a breve anche la pilota, ancora da designare, che farà parte del programma“Richard Mille Young Talent Academy”
Birel ART Racing ufficializza la line-up piloti per la stagione agonistica 2021 che è ormai alle porte. Partendo dalla categoria regina del karting, in KZ troviamo il tridente formato dall’olandese Marijn Kremers, dall’italiano Riccardo Longhi e dallo svedese Douglas Lundberg. Kremers, campione del mondo KZ nel 2019 con Birel ART e campione europeo nel 2020 con Ricciardo Kart, punta sicuramente a bissare il successo iridato dopo esserci andato vicino anche nel 2020 con il secondo posto finale. Per Longhi, vicecampione del mondo KZ nel 2019 e vincitore della WSK Euro Series nel 2020, l’obiettivo è proseguire a conquistare altri traguardi prestigiosi per i colori Birel ART. Lundberg, volto nuovo nel team italiano, si appoggerà a Renda Motorsport per difendere i colori Birel ART, ma parteciperà all’Europeo e al Mondiale FIA con la squadra ufficiale.
In KZ2 Birel ART Racing si presenta con gli italiani Giuseppe Palomba e Alessio Piccini oltre al thailandese Sutumno Thanapongpan. Per quanto riguarda la classe OK, la factory italiana schiera tre volti noti: il brasiliano Matheus Morgatto, l’italiano Cristian Bertuca e il polacco Tymoteusz Kucharczyk, che esordirà nella categoria regina del karting monomarcia con i colori RK dopo essere stato un assoluto protagonista in OKJ. Si affiancano a questo trio il russo Violentii Nicolay, l’uzbeko Ismail Akhmedkhadjaev e il polacco Max Angelard.
In OKJ si punta su giovani esordienti provenienti dalla Mini: il colombiano Hanna Hernandez, l’olandese Keeren Thijs, il finlandese Kini Tani e la brasiliana Aurelia Nobels saranno dei veri e propri rookie di categoria. Il francese Matteo Spirgel sarà quindi l’unico al secondo anno di OKJ, ma al primo a livello internazionale.
Birel ART Racing non farà mancare la propria presenza ufficiale anche nella classe Mini. Nel 2021 ha infatti inizio un programma di sviluppo a supporto della categoria dedicata ai più giovani in stretta collaborazione con il volte campione del mondo Alessandro Manetti, che sarà il responsabile di questo neonato progetto che avrà come primo portacolori ufficiale il belga Dries Van Langendonck.
Prosegue, infine, il programma “Richard Mille Young Talent Academy” per il quale è atteso, a breve, l’annuncio di una nuova pilota. A conferma del valore di questo progetto, dopo due stagioni in Birel ART Racing proprio all’interno del programma firmato Richard Mille, Maya Weug si è di recente aggiudicata la vittoria dell’iniziativa “Girls on track – Rising Stars”, ideata da “FIA Women in motorsport”. Un risultato che le darà accesso al mondo delle monoposto attraverso una via di assoluto prestigio, entrando (prima donna della storia) a far parte della Ferrari Driver Academy.

Birel ART Racing présente ses Pilotes 2021
19 noms ont été officialisés par le département Racing de la société italienne, qui sera présente dans toutes les catégories, de la Mini à la KZ, en passant par l’OKJ, l’OK et la KZ2. Ils seront bientôt rejoints par une pilote qui doit encore être désignée au sein du programme “Richard Mille Young Talent Academy”.
Birel ART Racing annonce officiellement la liste des pilotes pour la saison 2021, qui est désormais prête à démarrer. En partant de la catégorie reine du karting, on trouve en KZ le trio formé par le Néerlandais Marijn Kremers, l’Italien Riccardo Longhi et le Suédois Douglas Lundberg. Kremers, champion du monde KZ en 2019 avec Birel ART et champion d’Europe en 2020 avec Ricciardo Kart, vise assurément un nouveau succès mondial après avoir frôlé la victoire en 2020 avec une deuxième place. Palomba, Champion d’Italie et deuxième de la Super Coupe Internationale FIA Karting en 2020, va prendre la piste pour renforcer sa présence aux avant-postes de la scène internationale. Pour le nouveau venu Piccini, le premier objectif à atteindre est de se familiariser rapidement avec son nouveau matériel afin de pouvoir se battre pour les premières places de la catégorie. C’est une toute nouvelle aventure en KZ2 en revanche pour Thanapongpan, qui était engagé la saison dernière avec Birel ART Racing dans la catégorie Senior des karts à prise directe.
En ce qui concerne la catégorie OK, l’usine italienne aligne trois visages familiers : le Brésilien Matheus Morgatto, l’Italien Cristian Bertuca et le Polonais Tymoteusz Kucharczyk, qui fera ses débuts dans la catégorie reine du karting à prise prise directe aux couleurs de RK après avoir été un protagoniste absolu de l’OKJ. Le Russe Violentii Nicolay, l’Ouzbek Ismail Akhmedkhadjaev et le Polonais Max Angelard se joignent à ce trio.
En OKJ, l’accent est mis sur les jeunes recrues issues de la Mini : le Colombien Hanna Hernandez, le Néerlandais Keeren Thijs, le Finlandais Kini Tani et la Brésilienne Aurelia Nobels seront de véritables rookies de la catégorie. Birel ART Racing ne manquera pas sa présence officielle également dans la catégorie Mini. En 2021, en effet, un programme de développement va démarrer pour soutenir la catégorie dédiée aux plus jeunes pilotes, en étroite collaboration avec Alessandro Manetti, double champion du monde, qui sera en charge de ce nouveau projet, dont le premier pilote officiel sera le Belge Dries Van Langendonck.
Enfin, le programme “Richard Mille Young Talent Academy” se poursuit, avec l’annonce d’une nouvelle pilote attendue prochainement.
