Prima gara della stagione 2021, la WSK Champions Cup ha permesso a Birel ART Racing di testare una parte della sua formazione sull’Adria Karting Raceway alla presenza di un parterre da record. Nella Mini, la categoria più numerosa, Van Langendonk ha realizzato degli exploit per raggiungere la sesta posizione finale. Spirgel ha dimostrato una bella competitività nella Junior, mentre Kucharczyk si è perfettamente adattato alla guida nella OK così come Thanapongpan nella KZ2.
Team Manager di Birel ART Racing, Luca Filini ha fatto un bilancio incoraggiante di questo primo appuntamento dell’anno: “Sul piano tecnico, il nostro lavoro svolto nella stagione intermedia ci ha permesso di essere competitivi in tutte le categorie. La particolare situazione dettata dalla pandemia che continua a perdurare ha limitato le prove su circuito di alcuni piloti che hanno bisogno di più tempo per utilizzare al meglio il kart. Le performance della nostra nuova recluta nella Mini, Dries Van Langendonk, seguito da vicino da Alessandro Manetti, sono state entusiasmanti. Con il suo sesto tempo, Tymoteusz Kucharczyk ha dimostrato che bisognerà fare i conti anche con lui nella OK. I rookie devono ancora maturare esperienza nella Junior, ma Matteo Spirgel ha comunque fatto delle belle manche. Nella KZ2 questa volta non schieravamo molti piloti, ma Douglas Lundberg ha dato prova di un eccellente livello. I nostri complimenti vanno a Viktor Gustavsson per la sua magnifica vittoria su un telaio Birel ART del team Leclerc by Lennox Racing. Non vediamo l’ora di proseguire la stagione con tutti i nostri piloti per sviluppare la nostra strategia in tutte le categorie.”
Nella KZ2, Birel ART Racing schierava il tailandese Sutumno Thanapongpan la cui progressione costante per la sua prima prova al volante di un kart con cambio gli ha permesso di accedere alla finale. Lo svedese Douglas Lundberg, con i colori di Renda Motorsport, è stato l’autore di manche convincenti, spesso nella Top-5 e decimo nella classifica provvisoria. Un incidente in prefinale lo ha privato di una finale che era tuttavia meritata. Con la vittoria di Viktor Gustavsson del team Leclerc by Lennox Racing e otto telai Birel ART in finale, il marchio di Lissone si presenta già come uno dei protagonisti della stagione.
Tymoteusz Kucharczyk ha dato prova di una promettente padronanza sin dalla sua prima gara della stagione nella OK. Autore del sesto tempo ha poi continuato a girare nelle prime posizioni al volante del suo RK/TM Racing battendosi vicino alla Top-10. Cristian Bertucca ha approfittato della sua esperienza per rimontare dal 33° al 15° posto in finale. Max Angelard et Nicolay Violentii hanno imparato molto in occasione di questa gara di apertura.
Tutti e tre provenienti dalla 60 Mini, le giovani reclute Salim Hanna Hernandez, Keeren Thijs e Kimi Tani si sono subito confrontati con un parterre di oltre 100 piloti nella OK-Junior, ciò che non ha semplificato i loro primi passi nella categoria. Matteo Sprigel ha approfittato della sua esperienza per realizzare un interessante percorso che gli ha permesso di qualificarsi per la finale.
Nella Mini il lavoro di sviluppo realizzato sul telaio Birel ART ha dato i suoi frutti. Il giovane belga Dries Van Langendonk si è rivelato in effetti estremamente competitivo. Dopo il suo secondo miglior tempo in qualifica su 116 piloti partecipanti, ha confermato il suo talento con una vittoria e due secondi posti nelle manche, anche se è stato ostacolato per due volte. Ha realizzato un’incredibile rimonta di sedici posizioni nella prefinale e si è battuto senza sosta in occasione della finale per terminare in un promettente sesto posto. In collaborazione con Alessandro Manetti, Birel ART Racing dispone di un punto di forza certo per avere successo in questo anno nella Mini.
Il Team Birel ART Racing sarà al completo sull’Adia Karting Raceway per il primo appuntamento della WSK Super Master Series che si disputerà a partire dal prossimo week-end dal 25 al 28 febbraio.
Birel ART Racing Team – The 2021 season starts in Adria
The first competition of the 2021 season, the WSK Champions Cup allowed Birel ART Racing to debut it’s team on the Adria Karting Raceway in the presence of a record number of participants. In Mini, the largest category, Van Langendonk did very well to reach 6th position in the Final. Spirgel showed excellent competitiveness in the Junior class, and Kucharczyk adapted perfectly to the OK category, as did Thanapongpan in KZ2.
Luca Filini, Team Manager of Birel ART Racing, gave an encouraging assessment of this first meeting of the year: “On a technical level, our work during the off-season enabled us to be fully competitive in all categories. On the other hand, the particular situation of the ongoing pandemic has limited the running for the drivers, some of whom need more time to use their machines optimally. The performance of our new recruit in Mini, Dries Van Langendonk, closely supported by Alessandro Manetti, was exciting. With his 6th fastest time, Tymoteusz Kucharczyk showed that he could be relied on in OK. The rookies still have to work hard in the Junior category, but Matteo Spirgel completed some nice races. In KZ2, we didn’t have many drivers this time, but Douglas Lundberg showed an excellent standard. We salute the magnificent victory of Viktor Gustavsson on a Birel ART chassis from the Leclerc by Lennox Racing team. We look forward to continuing the season with all our drivers to develop our strategy in all categories.”
In KZ2, Birel ART Racing fielded the Thai driver Sutumno Thanapongpan, whose steady progression in his first race at the wheel of a gearbox kart saw him reach the Final. The Swede Douglas Lundberg, in the colours of Renda Motorsport, drove convincing races, often in the top five and 10th in the intermediate classification. An incident in the Prefinal deprived him of a well deserved Final. With the victory of Viktor Gustavsson from the Leclerc by Lennox Racing team and eight Birel ART chassis in the Final, the Lissone brand has already presented itself as one of the protagonists of the season.
Tymoteusz Kucharczyk showed promising control from his first race of the season in OK. After having set the 6th fastest lap time, he continued to be at the front of the field at the wheel of his RK / TM Racing machine, fighting for the top 10. Cristian Bertucca took advantage of his experience to move up from 33rd position to 15th in the Final classification. Max Angelard and Nicolay Violentii learned a lot in this opening race.
All three of them moving up from 60 Mini, the young recruits Salim Hanna Hernandez, Keeren Thijs and Kimi Tani were immediately confronted with a field of more than 100 drivers in OK-Junior, which didn’t make their first steps in the category any easier. In the Mini, the development work carried out on the Birel ART chassis paid off. The young Belgian Dries Van Langendonk proved to be extremely competitive. After his 2nd fastest time in Qualifying among 116 drivers, he confirmed his talent with a victory and two 2nd places in the heats, even though he was delayed twice. He made an incredible 16-place comeback in the Prefinal and fought relentlessly in the Final to finish in a promising 6th position. Together with Alessandro Manetti, Birel ART Racing has a definite asset to succeed this year in Mini.
The Birel ART Racing Team will be completed on the Adria Karting Raceway for the first meeting of the WSK Super Master Series that will take place next weekend, from February 25th to 28th.

Première compétition de la saison 2021, la WSK Champions Cup a permis à Birel ART Racing de roder une partie de sa formation sur l’Adria Karting Raceway en présence d’un plateau record. En Mini, la catégorie la plus nombreuse, Van Langendonk a réalisé des exploits pour atteindre la 6e position finale. Spirgel a démontré une belle compétitivité en Junior, tandis que Kucharczyk s’est parfaitement adapté au pilotage en OK, de même que Thanapongpan en KZ2.

Nous avons hâte de poursuivre la saison avec l’ensemble de nos pilotes pour développer notre stratégie dans toutes les catégories ».

Auteur du 6e chrono, il a ensuite continué à évoluer aux avant-postes au volant de son RK / TM Racing en se battant aux portes du top 10. Cristian Bertucca a profité de son expérience pour remonter du 33e chrono à la 15e position finale. Max Angelard et Nicolay Violentii ont beaucoup appris lors de cette course d’ouverture.
Tous trois issus de la 60 Mini, les jeunes recrues Salim Hanna Hernandez, Keeren Thijs et Kimi Tani se sont tout de suite confrontés avec un plateau de plus de 100 pilotes en OK-Junior, ce qui n’a pas facilité leurs premiers pas dans la catégorie. Matteo Sprigel a profité de son expérience pour réaliser un parcours intéressant qui lui permettait de se qualifier en finale.
En Mini, le travail de développement effectué sur le châssis Birel ART a porté ses fruits. Le jeune belge Dries Van Langendonk s’est révélé en effet extrêmement compétitif. Après son 2e meilleur temps en qualification parmi 116 pilotes, il a confirmé son talent avec une victoire et deux secondes places pendant les manches, même s’il a été retardé par deux fois. Il réalisait une incroyable remontée de 16 places en préfinale et se battait sans relâche lors de la finale pour terminer à une prometteuse 6e position. En collaboration avec Alessandro Manetti, Birel ART Racing dispose d’un atout certain pour réussir cette année en Mini.
