Bogdan Cosma Cristofor’s magnificent season in the Mini category continues. On 28th and 29th July at the South Garda Karting in Lonato, the talented young driver made a winning return to the IAME Series Italy. After finishing 2nd in Cremona in March, he has taken Romania’s colours to the top of the podium.
Crowned Romanian Champion a few weeks earlier, Bogdan Cosma Cristofor took part in the 7th round of the IAME Series Italy 2023 in Lonato. As usual, Bogdan worked hard with his team to improve his equipment. After setting the 7th fastest time in Timed Practice, he went from strength to strength as the meeting progressed.
Bogdan takes the lead after the heats
In the first Qualifying Heat, he made an incredible start to the race, taking the lead on the first lap after starting 3rd. Nine laps later, he crossed the finish line victorious, before finishing 2nd in the following heat after a hard-fought battle.
Ever the fighter, he took a very important victory in the third and final heat, which earned him a place on pole for the Final in front of all the regulars in this highly competitive series.

In the Final, contested at night under the floodlights of the Lonato circuit, the start proved decisive for Bogdan Cosma Cristofor. Determined not to relinquish his position as leader, he managed to hold on to his advantage in the first few corners, then set a particularly high pace in the pack to open up a gap. The end of the race, however, left Bogdan in a cold sweat, as his main rival attempted an attack at the last minute in the final bend. With his head held high, the young Romanian managed to catch up with his rival in the ideal position to take the chequered flag.
Once again in 2023, Bogdan caused the Romanian national anthem to resound on one of the most prestigious international circuits. This young driver’s perseverance and the team’s hard work have paid off. All Bodgan’s partners, his supporters, his mechanic and the Team Driver Racing Kart must of course be associated with this success, which inspires others…
