The engine tuning comprises more than just special mapping for the A 45 S’s electronic engine management system. The conversion also includes a #brabus PowerXtra CPC auxiliary control unit, the #brabus BoostXtra adapter, which lets the engine produce a sporty blow-off noise like a racecar, and a special duct for the air box.
After the modification, the turbocharged four-valve engine produces 21 kW / 29 hp (28 bhp) more peak power and adds 50 Nm (37 lb-ft) of torque. With 331 kW / 450 hp and 550 Nm of torque, the top-of-the-range model of the smallest Mercedes-Benz series is even livelier: the tuned A 45 S sprints from zero – 100 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. The top speed remains electronically limited to 270 km/h (168 mph).
While the bodywork remains unchanged, #brabus gives the compact car an individual look with tailor-made Monoblock Z 8.5Jx20 wheels on the front and rear axle. Their design with ten delicate spokes painted black with polished surfaces offers an excellent combination of outstanding strength and lightweight construction. As the optimal rubber front and back, #brabus selected tires of size 245/30 ZR 20 supplied by #brabus technology partner Continental.
In addition to the wider tires, the #brabus sports springs, height-adjustable by means of a thread, make the handling even more agile by lowering the vehicle’s center of gravity. They make it possible to dial-in any ride-height lowering between 0 and 30 millimeters.
Of course, #brabus also fulfills personal wishes regarding the interior design. These include stainless scuff plates with #brabus logo, which can be illuminated in 64 different colors in sync with the ambient lighting. Other options include #brabus aluminum pedals and high-quality velour floor mats with #brabus logo.
