American driver Juan Manuel Correa Will start from the fourth position of the grid to the first race of the FIA F3 that will take place tomorrow, Saturday, at 10.10am (CET).
Juan Manuel achieved the ninth place in the Qualifying, but the fact that the starting grid for the first race takes the first 12 in reverse order gave him the fourth place on the starting grid.
Despite starting from second row, Juan Manuel is cautious, even if he is happy to be already in the top ten in his second qualifying session of the season.
“I’m obviously very happy. Being in the top 10 in qualifying was our goal and we achieved it, so that is a huge step forward since Barcelona. In fact, this morning’s free practice sessions weren’t easy. I struggled a bit to get a good pace, but I felt there was potential and when it really counted, I was able to set the fastest partial times during the qualifying lap”, commented the American driver with satisfaction.
Despite achieving his objective of being in the top ten in qualifying and starting from fourth place, Juan Manuel kept his feet on the ground:
“There is still quite a few things I can do better and I feel that there is still a lot of margin for improvement. At the end of the day I’m happy and I feel that I’ll be in the battle during the weekend with the reverse grid. We’ll see how it goes tomorrow. I think they will be two quite difficult races, but I hope to be able to stay in the front group and I’ll try to fight to be in the top five. I want to be cautious and not raise the expectations too much. A podium will be very difficult to get, but I’ll try and give my best”, concluded the ART driver.
