Dorison the 2022 French Junior Champion

0

The first French Championship of 2022 has just been won by Arthur Dorison in the Junior category, operated by the FFSA Academy. France decided six years ago to follow in the footsteps of the FIA Karting Academy Trophy by offering a turnkey one-design formula on identical Exprit/Vortex equipment. The French Junior Karting Championship differs from the FIA Karting competition by the importance given to driver training. Several days are devoted to this at the beginning of the season and several coaches ensure regular and personalised follow-up in small groups throughout the five events. Also supervised by experienced professionals, the mechanics are also in training for a year at the FFSA Academy, in the French Junior Karting Championship, the French F4 Championship and the French Rally Championship.

A member of the French Karting Team, Arthur Dorison also defends the French colours in the FIA Karting Academy Trophy and is currently in 3rd place. He is also competing in the FIA Karting European Championship – OK-Junior and is currently 9th in the provisional standings. The last European event will take place at the end of the week on the Italian circuit of Franciacorta and has a strong list of participants. The international FIA Karting season will then move on to these two end of season world events. The KZ World Championship will take place in Le Mans (FRA) from 1st to 4th September alongside the KZ2 World Cup, while OK and OK-Junior will contest their World Championship two weeks later in Sarno (ITA).

The FIA World Motor Sport Council has approved the 2023 FIA Karting calendar with the introduction of two new tracks in the Czech Republic and Denmark. The introduction of a new category with a national focus has also been announced. This is the OK-N, a simplified version of OK with regulations that favour cost reduction. In 2024, a World Cup will bring together the best OK-N drivers qualified in their own country. More details are expected in the near future.
