Eleven new cultural organizations from the capital of Catalonia have joined forces with Turisme de Barcelona. With these latest additions to the Barcelona Culture & Leisure programme, run by the consortium for the promotion of cultural and leisure events, it now has a total of 162 members.
The new additions include music promoters like Live Nation (the organizer of major concerts by international artists) Advanced Music (responsible for the Sonar Music Festival) and Concerts a Barcelona (which organizes programmes of classical music at the Palau de la Música and Santa María del Mar Basilica). Another new member is the Moog electronic music club (run by Mas i Mas group) and the Bona Nit Barcelona festival, a green event that promotes environmental awareness through fun and entertainments.
Turisme de Barcelona has also incorporated Modernist venues. More specifically, the consortium has been joined by Casa de les Punxes and the ‘Cases Singulars’ tourism initiative (which organizes visits to singular buildings like Casa Ametller, Casa Lleó i Morera and Palau Baró de Quadres). Other new members include the sports theme park Open Camp Barcelona, the international dance programme IBStage (which organizes performances of classical dance at the Liceo Theatre), the alternative theatre venue Versus Teatro, and L’Aquàrium (Barcelona Aquarium).
