For many years now, the Energy Corse team has been training young karting drivers and guiding them towards victory. On the Franciacorta circuit, this was once again the case during the fourth and final round of the Euro Series organised by RGMMC, the promoter of the FIA Karting Championships. Tomass Stolcermanis put in a stunning performance to win the OK Final and finish the series on the third step of the podium. The Italian team’s level of performance was equally remarkable in OK-Junior, a category that saw Martin Molnar return to 3rd place. Meanwhile, almost 10,000 kilometres away, Schu Dozono won the Japanese Championship with Energy Team Nagao.
Fast in all conditions and on all tracks since the beginning of the season, the Energy Team Corse equipment seems to particularly appreciate the characteristics of the Italian circuit of Franciacorta. In OK, Tomass Stolcermanis has been here twice and won both times, showing himself to be particularly comfortable on this challenging track. “The three days I had were particularly fruitful,” said the young Latvian hopeful. “I was 4th in Timed Practice and then I always fought for the win in the heats, except for one when I had to retire. On Sunday morning I won my Super Heat, which boosted my confidence again. I was just worried about my starting position which meant I had to start from the outside. Despite this, I soon realised that I had a very high pace that allowed me to come back and fight with the leaders and aim for the win.”
Tomass would then pass the drivers separating him from 1st place one by one to triumph with a lead of more than three seconds and the fastest lap in the race. A great demonstration two weeks before the final of the European OK Championship which will take place on this same circuit. Stolcermanis took the opportunity to move up to 3rd in the final ranking of the 2022 Champions of the Future Euro Series.
Martin Molnar on the podium
The five drivers entered in the OK-Junior class by Energy Corse all showed their speed and determination. While the category had no less than 78 drivers at the start, all of them managed to take part in the Final: the Hungarian Martin Molnar, the Peruvian Andres Cardenas, the Frenchman Jules Caranta, the Swiss Kian Fardin and the Canadian Jensen Burnett. The latter three also drove a magnificent Super Heat to gain more places before the Final.
In Franciacorta, it was Molnar who was the best of the team this time. Already winner of a heat on Friday, he drove a clear round on Saturday and transcended himself on Sunday in the Final to climb on the third step of the podium. In the middle of a tumultuous field in which overtaking was incessant, Cardenas conquered an encouraging 8th position. Unfortunately, Fardin had to retire, Caranta crashed at the start, but Burnett gained 14 places to finish 18th.
Once again, the technical staff led by Luigina Guerrini and Simone Sorio worked tirelessly to put the drivers in the best possible position on this difficult circuit, while the engine builder GFR played a big role in this excellent overall result with its high-performance TM Racing machines. At each event, the Energy Corse team led by Michele Panigada can also count on valuable technical support from Tillett Seats and Sparco.
Moreover, Energy Corse continues to win in many countries around the world. Already 3rd in the previous round of the prestigious “All Japan Kart Championship”, the fast Schu Dozono crossed the finish line as winner this time. Congratulations also to Energy Japan Team Nagao for this great success. Once again, the partnership with GFR Engines contributed to this brilliant win.
“Energy” e successo per Stolcermanis prima del Campionato europeo
Sono molti anni che il team Energy Corse forma giovani piloti di karting e li guida alla vittoria. Sul circuito di Franciacorta, in occasione della quarta e ultima prova dell’Euro Series organizzata da RGMMC, promotore dei Campionati FIA Karting, la storia si è ripetuta. Con il best lap in gara, Tomass Stolcermanis ha offerto una prestazione straordinaria fino a vincere la finale OK e concludere la serie sul terzo gradino del podio. La prestazione della squadra italiana è stata altrettanto notevole nella OK-Junior, categoria che ha visto Martin Molnar tornare al terzo posto. Nel frattempo, a quasi 10.000 chilometri di distanza, Schu Dozono ha vinto il Campionato giapponese con l’Energy Team Nagao.
Veloce in tutte le condizioni e su tutti i circuiti fin dall’inizio della stagione, il kart del team Energy Corse sembra apprezzare particolarmente le caratteristiche del circuito italiano di Franciacorta. Nella OK, Tomass Stolcermanis è venuto qui due volte e ha vinto in entrambi i casi, dimostrando di essere particolarmente a suo agio su questo percorso molto difficile. “I tre giorni che ho trascorso sono stati particolarmente fruttuosi”, ha dichiarato la giovane speranza lettone. “Sono stato il quarto più veloce nelle prove cronometrate e poi ho sempre lottato per la vittoria nelle manche, tranne una in cui mi sono dovuto ritirare. Domenica mattina ho vinto la mia Super Heat, il che ha aumentato ancora di più la mia fiducia. Ero solo preoccupato per la mia posizione di partenza, che mi costringeva a partire dall’esterno. Nonostante questo, mi sono subito reso conto di avere un ritmo molto elevato che mi ha permesso di tornare a lottare con i leader e puntare alla vittoria.”
Tomass ha poi sorpassato a uno a uno i piloti che lo separavano dal primo posto per infine trionfare con un vantaggio di oltre tre secondi e il best lap in gara. Una grande dimostrazione a due settimane dalla finale del Campionato europeo OK che si svolgerà su questo stesso circuito. Stolcermanis ha colto l’occasione per salire al terzo posto nella classifica finale della Champions of the Future Euro Series 2022.
Martin Molnar sul podio
I cinque piloti iscritti alla classe OK-Junior di Energy Corse hanno tutti dimostrato velocità e determinazione. Se la categoria contava ben 78 piloti alla partenza, tutti sono riusciti a partecipare alla finale: l’ungherese Martin Molnar, il peruviano Andres Cardenas, il francese Jules Caranta, lo svizzero Kian Fardin e il canadese Jensen Burnett. Anche questi ultimi tre hanno disputato una magnifica Super Heat per guadagnare altre posizioni prima della finale.
In Franciacorta, questa volta è stato Molnar a dimostrarsi il migliore della squadra. Già vincitore di una manche il venerdì, ha fatto un percorso netto il sabato e si è superato domenica nella finale salendo sul terzo gradino del podio. In mezzo a un gruppo tumultuoso in cui i sorpassi erano incessanti, Cardenas ha conquistato un incoraggiante ottavo posto. Fardin purtroppo si è dovuto ritirare, Caranta è caduto alla partenza e Burnett ha guadagnato 14 posizioni per concludere al 18° posto.
Ancora una volta, lo staff tecnico guidato da Luigina Guerrini e Simone Sorio ha lavorato instancabilmente per mettere i piloti nella migliore posizione possibile su questo difficile circuito, mentre il preparatore GFR ha svolto un ruolo importante in questo eccellente risultato complessivo con i performanti TM Racing. In ogni evento, il team Energy Corse guidato da Michele Panigada può contare anche sul prezioso supporto tecnico dei sedili Tillett e del fornitore di accessori Sparco.
Inoltre, Energy Corse continua a vincere in molti Paesi del mondo. Già terzo nella precedente prova del prestigioso “All Japan Kart Championship”, il veloce Schu Dozono questa volta ha tagliato il traguardo come vincitore. Congratulazioni anche all’Energy Japan Team Nagao per questo grande risultato. Anche in questo caso, la partnership con GFR Engines ha contribuito a questo successo.
