The 2019 European season ended in France on the Le Mans circuit with a very successful performance from the official Parolin Racing Kart team and its #1 driver Gabriele Mini’ in OK, while James Wharton secured a very convincing top five in OK-Junior. Race after race, Parolin affirms its advantageous position among the best thanks to its extremely effective chassis in all conditions.

At Le Mans, the competition was very tough against formidable opponents, but we can be proud to have given the maximum to get ahead and take an indisputable victory. In Junior, it was a great reward to be able to reach 5th position with James Wharton who was only competing in his 2nd race with us. We are very much looking forward to the big world meeting in Finland in early September.”
The weather was still warm for the fourth and last meeting of the FIA Karting European Championship at Le Mans. Only a short downpour reduced grip on Saturday in the early afternoon without affecting the efficiency of the Parolin / TM Racing karts. The tension continued to rise during the Qualifying Heats where there were many incidents, while the free management of tyres complicated the running of the races on Sunday morning. The Finals were fiercely contested and there was no shortage of twists. The calmness of the drivers and the Parolin team allowed them to obtain the best results possible.
In the wake of his victory in the French OK Championship two weeks ago, Gabriele Mini’ once again completed a clear round. 4th fastest among the 67 participants, he did not leave the top two in the heats and resisted many opponents starting on new tyres with his 6th place in the last heat on Sunday morning. Starting from the second row of the Final, Mini’ took 1st place after six laps and managed his lead perfectly for another indisputable win. After this remarkable performance, Mini’ gained a place in the Championship and finished 2nd.
With little to his advantage during Timed Practice, Hugo Sasse performed well in the heats to regain 12 places. Very effective in the Final, the German driver was back in 7th place with a gain of 10 positions when a collision demolished his hopes on the penultimate lap of the race.
The young Australian James Wharton has confirmed his good performance at the French Cup in OK-Junior. Already 10th at the end of Qualifying, he made a good comeback in 4th place in the heats with a win. He started the Final in 3rd position before being pushed and falling back to 10th. James continued to fight and managed to return to the top five after many adventures, achieving a top performance for his second race with Parolin.
Brando Badoer was not in the best position to shine after a complicated Qualifying session in which he finished 31st. He proved more and more competitive in the last heats, but had to give up on the second lap of the Final. Mateo Rubio Luengo started with a very good 16th place and two finishes in the top 10 of the heats before falling in the rain and then giving up in a crash at the start of the last heat, which deprived him of qualification for the Final.
Campionato europeo: Minì vincitore e vicecampione OK, Top-5 Junior per Wharton
La stagione europea 2019 si è conclusa in Francia sul circuito di Le Mans con una performance assolutamente positiva da parte del team ufficiale Parolin Racing Kart e del suo pilota di punta Gabriele Minì nella OK, mentre James Wharton si è assicurato una Top-5 molto convincente nella OK-Junior. Gara dopo gara, Parolin afferma la sua vantaggiosa posizione tra i migliori grazie ai suoi telai estremamente performanti su tutti i circuiti.
“Siamo molto soddisfatti dei nostri progressi nel Campionato europeo”, ha commentato Marco Parolin. “Il team ha lavorato bene per sfruttare il potenziale dei nostri telai su circuiti molto diversi, qualunque siano i tipi di pneumatici utilizzati. A Le Mans, la gara è stata molto combattuta e alla presenza di avversari temibili, ma possiamo essere fieri perché abbiamo dato il massimo per precederli e conquistare una vittoria indiscutibile. Gabriele Minì merita tutto il nostro apprezzamento per aver raggiunto il secondo posto nel Campionato OK. Nella categoria Junior è stata una bella ricompensa avere raggiunto il quinto posto con James Wharton che ha disputato solo la sua seconda gara con noi. Ci aspettiamo molto dal grande appuntamento mondiale che si disputerà a inizio settembre in Finlandia.”
Temperature ancora alte per il quarto e ultimo meeting del Campionato europeo FIA Karting a Le Mans. Solo un piccolo rovescio ha ridotto il grip nel primo pomeriggio di sabato senza compromettere l’efficacia dei Parolin/TM Racing. La tensione ha continuato a salire nelle manche di qualificazione contraddistinte da numerosi incidenti, mentre la gestione libera degli pneumatici ha complicato lo svolgimento delle gare di domenica mattina. Le finali sono state molto combattute e i colpi di scena non sono mancati. Il sangue freddo dei piloti e del team Parolin ha permesso loro di ottenere i migliori risultati possibili.
Sulla scia della sua vittoria al Campionato francese OK due settimane prima, Gabriele Minì ha nuovamente realizzato un percorso netto. Quarto nelle prove cronometrate tra i 67 partecipanti, è sempre rimasto nella Top-2 nelle manche e ha egregiamente resistito a numerosi avversari partiti con pneumatici nuovi con la sua sesta posizione nell’ultima, domenica mattina. Partito dalla seconda fila in finale, Minì ha preso subito il comando dopo sei giri e ha gestito alla perfezione il suo vantaggio andandosi a conquistare una vittoria indiscutibile. Al termine di questa straordinaria performance, Minì ha guadagnato una posizione in Campionato e ha concluso al secondo posto.
Un po’ in vantaggio durante le prove cronometrate, Hugo Sasse ha realizzato delle ottime performance nelle manche per rimontare dodici posizioni. Molto efficace in finale, il pilota tedesco è rimontato al settimo posto guadagnando quindi dieci posizioni per poi vanificare il tutto a causa di un contatto nel penultimo giro della gara.
Il giovane australiano James Wharton ha confermato l’ottima prestazione nella Coppa di Francia OK-Junior. Già decimo al termine delle prove cronometrate, è stato protagonista di una bella rimonta nelle manche che gli ha permesso di raggiungere il quarto posto anche grazie a una vittoria. Ha iniziato la finale in terza posizione prima di subire un contatto e scivolare al decimo posto. James ha continuato a battersi ed è riuscito a rimontare nella Top-5 dopo una serie di peripezie, realizzando una performance di primo piano per la sua seconda gara con Parolin.
Brando Badoer non era nelle migliori condizioni per fare bella figura dopo una sessione di prove di qualificazione difficili dove si è classificato al 31° posto. Si è rivelato sempre più competitivo nelle ultime manche, ma ha dovuto ritirarsi già al secondo giro della finale. Mateo Rubio Luengo ha iniziato con un ottimo sedicesimo posto nelle crono e due piazzamenti nella Top-10 delle manche prima di perdere posizioni sotto la pioggia e poi ritirarsi a causa di un contatto all’inizio dell’ultima manche, che lo ha privato della qualificazione per la finale.
Championnat d’Europe : Mini’ vainqueur et vice-Champion OK, Top 5 Junior pour Wharton
La saison européenne 2019 s’est achevée en France sur le circuit du Mans par une prestation absolument réussie de la part du team officiel Parolin Racing Kart et de son pilote n°1 Gabriele Mini’ en OK, tandis que James Wharton assurait un top 5 très convaincant en OK-Junior. Courses après courses, Parolin affirme sa position avantageuse parmi les meilleurs grâce à ses châssis extrêmement performants sur tous les terrains.
« Nous sommes très satisfaits de notre progression en Championnat d’Europe », commentait Marco Parolin. « L’équipe a bien travaillé pour exploiter le potentiel de nos châssis sur des tracés très différents, quels que soient les types de pneumatiques utilisés. Au Mans, la compétition a été très rude face à des adversaires redoutables, mais nous pouvons être fiers d’avoir donné le maximum pour les devancer et décrocher une victoire indiscutable. Gabriele Mini’ mérite toute notre reconnaissance pour avoir atteint la 2e place du Championnat OK. En Junior, ce fut une belle récompense d’avoir pu atteindre la 5e position avec James Wharton qui disputait seulement sa 2e course avec nous. Nous attendons beaucoup du grand rendez-vous mondial qui aura lieu début septembre en Finlande. »
Le temps était encore chaud pour le 4e et dernier meeting du Championnat d’Europe FIA Karting au Mans. Seule une courte averse a réduit l’adhérence samedi en début d’après-midi sans affecter l’efficacité des Parolin/TM Racing. La tension ne cessait de monter pendant les manches qualificatives émaillées de nombreux incidents, tandis que la gestion libre des pneumatiques compliquait le déroulement des courses dimanche matin. Les finales ont été âprement disputées et les rebondissements n’ont pas manqué. Le sang-froid des pilotes et de l’équipe Parolin leur ont permis d’obtenir les meilleurs résultats possible.
Sur la lancée de sa victoire dans le Championnat de France OK deux semaines auparavant, Gabriele Mini’ a de nouveau réalisé un parcours sans fautes. 4e au chrono parmi les 67 participants, il ne quittait pas le top 2 dans les manches et résistait très bien à de nombreux adversaires partis en pneus neufs avec sa 6e place dans la dernière, dimanche matin. Parti depuis la 2e ligne de la finale, Mini’ s’emparait de la 1re place après 6 tours et gérait parfaitement son avance pour remporter une nouvelle victoire indiscutable. Au terme de cette prestation remarquable, Mini’ gagnait une place au Championnat et concluait en 2e position.
Peu à son avantage lors des essais chronométrés, Hugo Sasse réalisait de bonnes performances dans les manches pour regagner 12 places. Très efficace en finale, le pilote allemand était revenu en 7e position avec un gain de 10 positions lorsqu’un accrochage réduisait à néant ses espoirs dans l’avant-dernier tour de la course.
Le jeune Australien James Wharton a confirmé sa belle prestation de la Coupe de France OK-Junior. Déjà 10e à l’issue des chronos, il effectuait une belle remontée au 4e rang des manches en ayant décroché au passage une victoire. Il débutait la finale en 3e position avant de se faire bousculer et de retomber 10e. James continuait à se battre et parvenait à revenir dans la top 5 après bien des péripéties, réalisant une performance de premier plan pour sa seconde course avec Parolin.
Brando Badoer n’était pas dans les meilleures conditions pour briller après des essais qualificatifs compliqués dans lesquels il se classait 31e. Il se révélait de plus en plus compétitif dans les dernières manches, mais devait renoncer dès le 2e tour de la finale. Mateo Rubio Luengo démarrait avec un très bon 16e chrono et deux places dans le top 10 des manches avant de chuter sous la pluie puis d’abandonner lors d’un accrochage dès le départ de la dernière manche, ce qui le privait de qualification pour la finale.
