Juan Manuel Correa finished in fourteenth position in the Qualifying that took place today at the Hungaroring circuit, after having only 19 laps to familiarise himself with the new braking pump, that he used here for the first time.

With temperatures over 30 degrees Celsius, the first day of the Hungarian GP ended with a fourteenth place in Qualifying, so he will start tomorrow, Saturday, from that position, just after the Italian-Argentinean driver Matteo Nannini, nephew of the former F1 driver Alessando Nannini and the author of the pole position, Arthur Leclerc, as the starting grid reverts the first twelve places of the Qualifying for tomorrow’s race.

Juan Manuel will face again a race starting from the middle of the pack on a track where it is difficult to overtake, although not impossible, so it will be a challenge.

In this morning’s free practice session, Juan Manuel had to familiarise himself with the new braking pump of his Dallara. He only had the nineteen laps he was able to complete in the Free Practice.

In Qualifying, the ART driver tried to make the most of his car and achieved his 14th place after twelve laps.

“The car had a good behaviour in general, but I had to adapt myself to the new braking pump, which I used here for the first time and as we only had 45 minutes in the morning I got to the Qualifying with the feeling that I needed a bit more time to make the most of the car. I was close to get that twelfth place, which allow you to start from pole in the first race, but I think I’m in a good position for the race, as I will have the poleman just two places in front of me and that is a good car to follow and try to improve positions. That is the aim of the race. We’re not far from the points positions, so I’ll have to fight again, as I’ve been doing since the start of the season. The heat didn’t affect me too much and that proves that my physical level is adequate to keep improving in this championship”, explained Juan Manuel
