Sidi Sport si conferma grande protagonista del motocross. In Olanda, sulla difficile e spettacolare pista sabbiosa di Valkenswaard, i piloti Sidi hanno dato spttacolo e regalato forti emozioni in tutte le categorie del GP d’Europa.
Le soddisfazioni più belle sono arrivate dai giovani, con le due splendide vittorie nel Campionato Europeo qui in Olanda all’esordio stagionale. Nella classe EMX300 la vittoria è andata al belga, figlio d’arte, Yentel Martens mentre nella classe EMX250 a vincere è stato l’inglese Conrad Mewse. Con questi due giovani di grande talento e belle speranze ci sono gli stivali Sidi Crossfire2. Entrambi arrivano dalla scuderia J.M. Racing della leggenda del motocross Jacky Martens con il quale Sidi collabora con ottimi risultati da molto tempo. Sono due giovani piloti dei quali sentiremo spesso parlare, Yentel è il figlio del grande Jacky.
Salendo di categoria troviamo Sidi sul podio anche nella gara del mondiale MX2 grazie alla bella prova dello svizzero Jeremy Seewer, che pochi anni fa su questo tipo di terreno faticava a entrare nei primi dieci, terzo nella classifca finale del GP.
Infine per Sidi successo anche in campo femminile con la vittoria della padrona di casa Nancy Van De Ven, già stata protagonista anche nella prima gara della stagione in Qatar. L’olandese, prima in gara1 e terza in gara2, ha dominato la gara della WMX. Peccato per la campionessa del mondo Kiara Fontanesi, bene in gara1 chiusa al secondo posto, in gara2 però costretta al ritiro a seguito di una spettacolare caduta fortunatamente per lei senza conseguenze fisiche.
E Tony Cairoli? Ci siamo quasi…nella MXGP dopo una gara1 sofferta Cairoli ha rimesso le cose al posto giusto ed è stato protagonista della gara2 che lo ha visto rimanere al comando fino all’ultimo giro. Il podio di giornata è sfumato per poco, ma Cairoli ha quasi ritrovato la forma ideale e siamo sicuri che nelle prossime gare tornerà ad essere il fenomeno che tutti conosciamo.
MOTOCROSS: SIDI SPORT A MAJOR PLAYER IN HOLLAND
At Valkenswaard victories in the European Championships (EMX300 e EMX250), in the WMX and podium in the MX2.
Sidi Sport has become a major player in motocross. In Holland, on the difficult and spectacular sandy track in Valkenswaard, Sidi riders put on a show and brought plenty of thrills in all the categories of the European GP.
The finest achievements came from young riders, with two splendid victories here in Holland for the season opener of the European Championship series. In the EMX300 class, victory went to the Belgian celebrity offspring Yentel Martens, while in the EMX250 class it was England’s Conrad Mewse who won. These two highly talented young hopefuls were wearing Sidi Crossfire2 boots. Both riders come from motocross legend Jacky Martens’ J.M. Racing crew, with which Sidi has been collaborating for quite some time with great results. They are two young pilots whom we’re sure to hear more from. Yentel is the great Jacky’s son.
Rising through the categories we find Sidi on the podium as well for the World MX2 race, with a nice test for Switzerland’s Jeremy Seewer, who just a few years ago had a hard time making it into the top 10 on this type of terrain; this time he was third in the final standings for the GP.
Finally, Sidi also achieved success in the women’s field with a victory by the lady of the house Nancy Van De Ven, who was also a heavy player in the first race of the season in Qatar. The Dutch girl dominated the WMX competition, coming in first in race1 and third in race2. Too bad for women’s World Champion Kiara Fontanesi, who did well in race1 coming in second; however in race2 she was forced to drop out after a chilling fall which fortunately did not cause any physical injuries.
And Tony Cairoli? We’re almost there…in the MXGP, after struggling in race1, Cairoli got it together and broke out in race2, remaining in the lead up until the last lap. Alas, the day’s podium turned out to be just out of reach; however, Cairoli is almost back in top form and we are sure that in the next races he will return to being the phenomenon we all know and love.
