MOUNTAIN BIKE HOLIDAYS IN THE DOLOMITI STARS

Those who arrive in the Dolomiti Stars with the idea of spending a holiday off road have plenty to choose from, considering the 900 km of routes at altitudes between 600 and 2550 metres.

Travelling by mountain bike between Civetta (Alleghe, Selva di Cadore and Val di Zoldo), Falcade, Arabba and Marmolada, is a surprising experience. Fans of two-wheeling fun will be in their element on itineraries featuring all levels of difficulty: challenging altitude changes and breath-taking scenery, single-tracks and adrenaline descents, but also flat routes in the lower valleys for families and anyone who wants to spend some time outdoors in the open air. Plus, in the Dolomiti Stars cyclists are welcomed with lots of services designed specifically for their needs and comfort: hospitality that includes accommodations, rentals, shops, lodges, tourist guides and lift facilities.

One must is the Gran Tour Dolomiti Stars: an exciting, three-day Dolomite itinerary that connects the main tourist centres in the Dolomiti Stars. The route is a loop divided into stages and sub-stages (“passes”) so it can be adapted to all abilities and every need, thanks in part to the use of the lift facilities found along the route. Furthermore, the specialized hospitality of “Bike Friendly” establishments and the services available to Bikers, such as baggage transfer from one stage to the next, make it possible to choose the starting location to your liking and ride along the entire loop that crosses the groups of the Marmolada and the Sella, touches the Tofane, the Pelmo, the Civetta and enters the North-eastern limits of the Pale di San Martino.

In the Dolomiti Stars territories you can also rent e-bikes, special bikes with assisted pedalling, where human propulsion gets a boost from an electric motor. Practical, quiet and with zero-emissions, e-bikes are a valid ride, especially for those who want to expend less effort while pedalling, whether in the lower valleys or pushing themselves to higher altitudes with the lift facilities.

Don’t miss the chance to spend 3 days in the Dolomites, a UNESCO Natural World Heritage, with the special offer “Dolomiti Stars MTB Tour”: https://booking.dolomiti.org/en/packages/mountain-bike-dolomiti-eng-20113/
