WSK Super Master Series Win and title in 60 Mini at Sarno
The first international championship of the year, the WSK Super Master Series, ended at Sarno with a superb victory for Rashid Al Dhaheri in 60 Mini, which also enabled Parolin to win the general classification. Although not a surprise considering the performance level of the Parolin chassis, this result is a pleasant reward for the Italian factory.
“We are extremely pleased with our 60 Mini win, confirming our tradition of success that has lasted for three consecutive years,” commented Marco Parolin. “We won this title in 2017 with Gabriele Minì, last year with Martinius Stenshorne and this season with Rashid Al Dhaheri. This is something we are proud of, especially because the level of competition in the Mini category continues to increase. We confirm our high standard as a team, and of course as a chassis manufacturer. In the other two categories, we worked hard this weekend to improve in the difficult conditions at Sarno, preparing for the next challenge, the WSK Euro Series.”
Parolin once again represented a large proportion of the 60 Mini field. The results included nine victories in the heats, 10 drivers in the top 13 of the Final and eight Parolins in the top 10 of the Championship. The numbers are always impressive.
Because of the importance of slipstreaming on the long Neapolitan circuit, Qualifying Practices were not always easy to manage for the very young drivers in 60 Mini. Keanu Al Azhari and Giovanni Trentin, however, managed to achieve the 2nd and 3rd fastest times among the 87 participants, while Rashid Al Dhaheri was 15th. The latter however completed exemplary runs and returned to the front of the competition on Saturday night. Starting from 6th in the Final, Al Dhaheri took the lead from the second lap and brilliantly controlled his opponents until the finish. He took the lead in the standings of the series and earned a well-deserved crown. Also very fast, Giovanni Trentin achieved his best result by entering the top 10 in the Final. Victim of a racing incident at the start of his Prefinal, Al Azhari unfortunately could not defend his chances in the Final.
It was also a Prefinal accident that delayed Gabriele Mini’s progress in OK. However, he managed to qualify 30th in the Final and a festival of overtaking allowed him to return to 8th position at the finish line. This remarkable effort allowed him to save his place in the top five overall of the WSK Super Master Series.
Although he had to overcome his 30th place in the OK-Junior Timed Practice, Brando Badoer did a great job moving up to 7th in the Final before finishing 11th. Martinius Stenshorne fell to the back of the pack during a clash on the second lap of the Final, which prevented him from enjoying his potential as much as he deserved.
After an exceptional start to the season, Parolin is preparing to start the WSK Euro Series next weekend which will take place on the same circuit of Sarno. The goal is clear: to work even harder with the young drivers of the team to improve the results they are able to achieve with the high-performance equipment from Parolin.
WSK Super Master Series: vittoria e titolo 60 Mini a Sarno
Il primo campionato internazionale dell’anno, la WSK Super Master Series, si è concluso a Sarno con una straordinaria vittoria di Rashid Al Dhaheri nella 60 Mini che ha permesso a Parolin di essere primo anche in classifica generale. Nonostante il livello di performance dei telai Parolin non rappresenti una sorpresa, questo risultato è comunque un bel premio per l’azienda italiana.
“Siamo molto soddisfatti della nostra vittoria nella 60 Mini e conferma la nostra tradizione di successi che durano da oltre tre anni consecutivi”, ha commentato Marco Parolin. “Abbiamo vinto questo titolo nel 2017 con Gabriele Minì, l’anno scorso con Martinius Stenshorne e quest’anno con Rashid Al Dhaheri. È qualcosa di cui andiamo fieri, soprattutto perché il livello di competizione nella categoria Mini continua ad aumentare. Confermiamo il nostro elevato livello come team e sicuramente come produttore di telai. Nelle altre due categorie, abbiamo lavorato duramente questo week-end per migliorare nelle difficili condizioni di Sarno, preparandoci per la prossima sfida, la WSK Euro Series.”
Ancora una volta Parolin è stato uno dei più presenti nel parterre delle 60 Mini. Le classifiche testimoniano di nove vittorie nelle manche, dieci piloti nei primi tredici della finale e otto Parolin nella Top-10 del campionato. Dati sempre molto impressionanti.
A causa dell’importanza del fenomeno della scia sul lungo circuito napoletano, le prove di qualificazione non sono state sempre facili da gestire per i giovanissimi piloti della 60 Mini. Keanu Al Azhari e Giovanni Trentin sono tuttavia riusciti a far segnare il secondo e il terzo miglior tempo tra gli 87 partecipanti, mentre Rashid Al Dhaheri si è classificato 15°. Quest’ultimo è stato tuttavia in grado di fare delle manche esemplari e di tornare in testa nella gara di sabato sera. Partito dalla sesta posizione per la finale, Al Dhaheri è andato in testa sin dal secondo giro e ha controllato brillantemente i suoi avversari fino all’arrivo. Ha ripreso così il vantaggio nella classifica generale della serie e ha ottenuto un titolo ampiamente meritato. Anche lui molto veloce, Giovanni Trentin ha fatto segnare il suo miglior risultato rientrando nella Top-10 finale. Vittima di un incidente di gara all’inizio della sua prefinale, sfortunatamente Al Azhari non ha potuto giocarsi le sue chance in finale.
Anche Gabriele Minì nella OK è stato ritardato da un contatto in prefinale. Tuttavia, è riuscito a qualificarsi al 30° posto per la finale e ha realizzato una serie di sorpassi fino a rimontare all’ottavo posto sulla linea del traguardo. Questo grande sforzo gli ha permesso di salvare la sua posizione nella Top-5 della classifica generale della WSK Super Master Series.
Anche se ha dovuto lottare con la sua 30a posizione in occasione delle prove cronometrate OK-Junior, Brando Badoer ha svolto un eccellente lavoro rimontando fino alla settima posizione nel corso della finale prima di terminare undicesimo. Martinius Stenshorne è scivolato in fondo al gruppo a causa di un contatto sin dal secondo giro durante la finale, ciò che gli impedito di sfruttare il suo potenziale come avrebbe meritato.
Dopo un inizio stagione eccezionale, Parolin si appresta a lanciarsi sin dal week-end prossimo nella WSK Euro Series che si svolgerà sullo stesso circuito di Sarno. L’obiettivo è chiaro: impegnarsi sempre di più con i giovani piloti del team per aumentare i risultati che sono in grado di ottenere con il mezzo molto performante che Parolin mette a loro disposizione.

Le premier championnat international de l’année, la WSK Super Master Series, s’est achevé à Sarno par une superbe victoire de Rashid Al Dhaheri en 60 Mini qui a permis à Parolin de remporter également le classement général. Sans être une surprise au vu du niveau de performance des châssis Parolin, ce résultat est une belle récompense pour l’usine italienne.
« Nous sommes extrêmement satisfaits de notre victoire en 60 Mini, confirmant ainsi notre tradition de succès qui dure depuis trois années consécutives », commentait Marco Parolin. « Nous avons remporté ce titre en 2017 avec Gabriele Minì, l’année dernière avec Martinius Stenshorne et cette saison avec Rashid Al Dhaheri. Nous confirmons notre haut niveau en tant qu’équipe, et bien sûr en tant que fabricant de châssis. Dans les deux autres catégories, nous avons travaillé dur ce week-end pour améliorer dans les conditions difficiles de Sarno, en nous préparant pour le prochain défi, la WSK Euro Series. »
Parolin représentait encore une fois une part importante du plateau 60 Mini. Les classements faisaient état de 9 victoires pendant les manches, de 10 pilotes dans les 13 premiers de la finale et de 8 Parolin dans le top 10 du championnat. Des chiffres toujours impressionnants.
À cause de l’importance des phénomènes d’aspiration sur le long circuit napolitain, les essais qualificatifs n’étaient pas toujours faciles à gérer pour les très jeunes pilotes de la 60 Mini. Keanu Al Azhari et Giovanni Trentin réussissaient cependant à réaliser les 2e et 3e meilleurs temps parmi les 87 participants, tandis que Rashid Al Dhaheri se classait 15e. Celui-ci effectuait cependant des manches exemplaires et revenait en tête de la compétition samedi soir. Parti depuis la 6e position pour la finale, Al Dhaheri prenait le leadership dès le 2e passage et contrôlait brillamment ses adversaires jusqu’à l’arrivée. Il reprenait ainsi l’avantage au classement de la série et obtenait une couronne largement méritée. Lui aussi très rapide, Giovanni Trentin signait son meilleur résultat en rentrant dans le top 10 final. Victime d’un incident de course au début de sa préfinale, Al Azhari ne pouvait malheureusement pas défendre ses chances en finale.
C’est également un accrochage en préfinale qui retardait la progression de Gabriele Mini en OK. Il parvenait cependant à se qualifier 30e pour la finale et réalisait un festival de dépassements pour revenir jusqu’à la 8e position sur la ligne d’arrivée. Cet effort remarqué lui permettait de sauver sa place dans le top 5 du classement général de la WSK Super Master Series.
Bien qu’il ait dû composer avec sa 30e place lors des essais chronométrés OK-Junior, Brando Badoer a fait un excellent travail en remontant jusqu’à la 7e position au cours de la finale avant de terminer 11e. Martinius Stenshorne chutait en queue de peloton lors d’un accrochage dès le 2e tour de la finale, ce qui l’empêchait de profiter de son potentiel comme il l’aurait mérité.
Après un début de saison exceptionnel, Parolin s’apprête à se lancer dès le week-end prochain dans la WSK Euro Series qui se déroulera sur le même circuit de Sarno. L’objectif est clair : travailler encore plus fort avec les jeunes pilotes du team pour faire progresser les résultats qu’ils sont en mesure d’obtenir avec le matériel très performant que Parolin met à leur disposition.
