Pole position and victory for Suleiman Zanfari in F4 in Kuwait
At the second round of the FIA-certified Saudi Arabian F4 Championship, which has just been held on the Kuwait Motor Town circuit, Moroccan driver Suleiman Zanfari once again played a leading role. Very fast during Free Practice practice on Friday 9th February 2024, he then took pole position in Qualifying. Suleiman went on to win Race 1 by a comfortable margin.
As on the previous weekend, he was less successful in Races 2 and 3, which were run with an inverted grid for the top 10 and offered half as many points. Ranked 6th and then 9th after a number of ups and downs, Suleiman was able to show his talent to better effect in Race 4, which brought the meeting to a close with a rewarding 2nd place finish. Suleiman is currently 2nd in the provisional Championship standings with 92 points, just two behind the leader.
Suleiman got off to an excellent start at the second meeting of the year, taking pole position in Qualifying Practice. He took the lead in Race 1, first overtaking Kirill Kutskov (Kyrgyzstan) and then increasing his lead over Oscar Wurz (Austria) to take victory by almost five seconds.
Because of the inverted grid rule, Suleiman started 11th at the start of Race 2 on Saturday morning. He was delayed by an incident on the second lap, but nevertheless managed to climb back up to 6th position despite the intervention of the safety car for four laps, which limited his progress. 10th at the start of Race 3, Suleiman began to make up places, but the rest of the race did not go his way. Once again delayed by the safety car, he was held up by two drivers in the middle of a fight before being penalised for overshooting the limits of the track and ending up only 9th.
Suleiman returned to the front row for the start of Race 4. While Serbian Andrej Petrovic broke away at the front, Suleiman had to concentrate on the threat of Federico Al Rifai (UAE) behind him to take the points for 2nd place.

في الجولة الثانية من بطولة السعودية للفورمولا 4 المعتمدة من الاتحاد الدولي للسيارات، والتي أقيمت مؤخرًا على حلبة مدينة الكويت لرياضة المحركات، لعب السائق المغربي سليمان الزنفري دورًا مميزًا مرة أخرى. مُستفيدًا من سرعته العالية في التجارب الحرة التي جرت يوم الجمعة 9 فبراير 2024، أحتل سليمان الزنفري المركز الأول في التصفيات. وفاز سليمان بالسباق الأول بفارق مريح.
ولكن على غرار ما حدث في نهاية الأسبوع الماضية، لم يحقق سليمان نفس النجاح في السباقين الثاني والثالث حيث تم عكس ترتيب الانطلاق لأصحاب المراكز العشرة الأولى وتقليص النقاط إلى النصف. ورغم احتلاله المركز السادس ثم التاسع بعد تقلبات عدة في السباقين الثاني والثالث، تمكن سليمان من إظهار موهبته بشكل أفضل في السباق الرابع واختتم السباق بحصوله على مركز الوصافة المستحق. ويحتل سليمان حاليًا المركز الثاني في الترتيب المؤقت للبطولة برصيد 92 نقطة، بفارق نقطتين فقط عن المتصدر.
قدم سليمان انطلاقة ممتازة في الجولة الثانية من البطولة لهذا العام، حيث حصل على المركز الأول في التجارب التأهيلية. لقد أخذ زمام المبادرة في السباق الأول، حيث تجاوز أولاً كيريل كوتسكوف (من قيرغيزستان) ثم زاد تقدمه على أوسكار فورتز (من النمسا) ليحقق الفوز بفارق حوالي خمس ثوانٍ.
طبقًا لقاعدة عكس ترتيب الانطلاق، بدأ سليمان في المركز الحادي عشر في السباق الثاني الذي أقيم صباح يوم السبت. وتعرض سليمان لتأخير بسبب حادث في اللفة الثانية، لكنه مع ذلك تمكن من الصعود إلى المركز السادس على الرغم من تدخل سيارة الأمان لأربع لفات، مما حد من تقدمه. ورغم انطلاقه من المركز العاشر في السباق الثالث، بدأ سليمان باستعادة المراكز المتقدمة، إلا أن الأمور لم تجرِ وفقًا لمخططاته في بقية السباق. حيث تأخر سليمان مجدداً بسبب دخول سيارة الأمان، ووجد نفسه عالقًا خلف سائقين يتنافسان بشراسة في منتصف السباق، قبل أن يُعاقب لتجاوزه حدود المضمار وينهي السباق في المركز التاسع فقط.
عاد سليمان إلى الصف الأمامي في بداية السباق الرابع. بينما انفرد الصربي أندري بيتروفيتش بالصدارة، اضطر سليمان إلى التركيز على التهديد الذي يمثله الإماراتي فيديريكو الرفاعي خلفه للحصول على نقاط المركز الثاني.
Pole position et victoire pour Suleiman Zanfari en F4 au Koweit
Lors de la 2e épreuve du championnat Saudi Arabian F4 certifié FIA qui vient de se tenir sur le circuit de Kuwait Motor Town, le pilote marocain Suleiman Zanfari a de nouveau joué les premiers rôles. Très rapide pendant les essais libres du vendredi 9 février 2024, il a ensuite réalisé la pole position en qualification. Suleiman s’est imposé dans la foulée avec une avance confortable lors de la course 1.
Comme lors du week-end précédent, il a connu moins de réussite lors des courses 2 et 3 lancées avec une grille de départ inversée pour les 10 premiers et offrant deux fois moins de points. Classé 6e puis 9e après plusieurs péripéties, Suleiman a pu exprimer de meilleure manière son talent lors de la course 4 qui clôturait le meeting avec une valorisante 2e position à l’arrivée. Suleiman occupe à ce jour le 2e rang du classement provisoire du championnat avec 92 points à seulement deux unités du leader.
Suleiman avait très bien commencé ce 2e meeting de l’année en décrochant la pole position des essais qualificatifs. Parti en tête de la 1re course, il distançait d’abord Kirill Kutskov (Kyrgyzstan) et augmentait ensuite irrémédiablement son avance sur Oscar Wurz (Autriche) pour remporter la victoire avec près de 5 secondes d’avance.
A cause de la règle de la grille inversée, Suleiman s’élançait 11e au départ de la course 2 samedi matin. Il était retardé par un incident au 2e tour, mais parvenait néanmoins à remonter en 6e position malgré l’intervention de la voiture de sécurité pendant 4 tours qui limitait sa progression. 10e au départ de la course 3, Suleiman commençait par regagner des places, mais la suite ne lui a pas été favorable. A nouveau retardé dans sa progression par la voiture de sécurité, il était retardé par deux pilotes en pleine bagarre avant d’être pénalisé pour dépassement des limites de la piste et se retrouvait seulement 9e.
Suleiman retrouvait la 1re ligne pour le départ de la course 4. Alors que le Serbe Andrej Petrovic s’échappait en tête, Suleiman devait se concentrer sur la menace de Federico Al Rifai (UAE) derrière lui pour prendre les points de la seconde place.
