2017 looks all set to be a good year for the meeting and congress travel sector, further consolidating Barcelona’s role as the European capital for this kind of tourism.

Medicine and research are the main fields that bring specialists flocking to the city from all over the world. Barcelona will be holding international congresses on cardiology (32,000 delegates), gastroenterology (14,000 delegates), nursing (7,000), the retina (5,000) and organ transplants (5,000), among other subjects.
The Mobile World Congress (MWC), which was attended this year by 95,000 visitors, will take place from February 27th to March 2nd in 2017, as usual attracting professionals and top businesses from the mobile telephone sector worldwide.
