Social recycling for disused IT hardware

Ensuring the responsible and sustainable use of IT waste is the key objective of the agreement signed between Turisme de Barcelona and the Banc de Recursos Foundation, part of the Pont Solidari (‘Solidarity Connection’) initiative, aimed at moving ahead towards a responsible and sustainable waste management model.

As a result of the agreement, the Consortium will be donating a wide range of disused IT hardware from its information offices, including keyboards, PC towers, screens, cables and connectors, as well as printers and hard drives.

This action reflects the Consortium’s commitment to implementing a sustainable and responsible waste management system; raising awareness of the Foundation’s work and promoting it both internally and externally; and also collaborating with Pont Solidari service programme, due to its considerable social and environmental benefits.

Banc de Recursos is a private foundation that works to put the planet’s material and human resources to the best possible use by channelling the surplus resources society generates into Third World development projects as well as those sectors of our society that lack these items.
