Neapolitan double podium at the opening of the WSK Euro Series
A week after Bas Lammers’ crowning in the WSK Super Master Series, Sodi drivers once again shone on the Sarno circuit for the first round of the WSK Euro Series. Bas Lammers and Anthony Abbasse confirmed the performance of the French chassis by both mounting the Final podium after tough battles. With four Sodi in the top 10, the French brand achieved the best team score.
As the season progresses, Sodikart confirms its strong potential in international competition in KZ2. The three drivers of the Sodi Racing Team are among the best players in the top category, and despite the inevitable hazards of racing, always appear in a good position at the finish.
“The good results since the beginning of the year have rewarded us for our efforts and encourage us to work even harder to maintain our advantageous position. The Sodi 2019 chassis is a really excellent basis,” said Julien Dexmier, the team manager. “Motivated as ever after his win last week, Bas fought like a lion to return to 2nd in the Final, while Anthony fulfilled his mission by climbing on the third step of the podium. It was a little more difficult this time for Adrien, but his 2nd fastest time confirms his speed. Finally, I would like to salute the work of the CPB Sport satellite team which enabled Jean Nomblot to finish in the top 10 for the first time.”
Excellent performance for Lammers
Yet Bas Lammers’ course was simple. 15th of the Timed Practice, he was delayed by an abandonment in his last heat. Holder of three fastest laps in the race this weekend, including that of the final, Bas gained five places in the Prefinal and drove a magic Final to finish 2nd, only 51 thousandths of a second from the winner: the victory was not far away!
Abbasse on the pace
Anthony Abbasse delivered a solid performance that allows him to hold 2nd place in the provisional ranking of the Euro Series. 2nd at the end of the heats, before clinching a good victory in the Prefinal, he ensured the 3rd place finish with intelligence.
Renaudin close to pole position
Thanks to the fastest time in his session, Adrien Renaudin finished 2nd in the 13-lap test in pole position in front of most of the KZ2 professionals. He had to deal with some problems in a heat and then in the Prefinal before returning to 8th position in the Final, which allowed him to stay in touch in the top 10 of the standings.
With the Trefle Racing Junior team, the factory OK-Junior driver Evan Giltaire recorded a noticeable improvement in his performances by qualifying for the Final. He made a gain of 11 places and finished in the top 20. One to watch!
A major event of the season, the FIA Karting European Championship – KZ is Sodi Racing Team’s next goal in early May in Wackersdorf, Germany.

Une semaine après le couronnement de Bas Lammers en WSK Super Master Series, les pilotes Sodi ont de nouveau brillé sur le circuit de Sarno pour la première épreuve de la WSK Euro Series. Bas Lammers et Anthony Abbasse confirmaient la performance des châssis français en montant tous les deux sur le podium final à l’issue de rudes batailles. Avec quatre Sodi dans le top 10, la marque française réalisait le meilleur score d’équipe.
À mesure que la saison avance, Sodikart confirme son fort potentiel en compétition internationale KZ2. Les trois pilotes du Sodi Racing Team font partie des meilleurs protagonistes de la catégorie de pointe, et malgré les inévitables aléas de la course, figurent toujours en bonne place à l’arrivée.
« Les bons résultats qui s’enchaînent depuis le début de l’année nous récompensent de nos efforts et nous encouragent à travailler encore plus pour maintenir notre situation avantageuse. La base des châssis Sodi 2019 est vraiment excellente », déclarait Julien Dexmier, le team manager. « Motivé comme jamais après sa victoire la semaine précédente, Bas s’est battu comme un lion pour revenir 2e en finale, tandis qu’Anthony remplissait sa mission en montant sur la 3e marche du podium. Ce fut un peu plus difficile cette fois pour Adrien, mais son 2e chrono confirme sa rapidité. Enfin, je tiens à saluer le travail du team satellite CPB Sport qui a permis à Jean Nomblot de terminer pour la première fois dans le top 10. »
Du grand Lammers
Pourtant, le parcours de Bas Lammers n’a été simple. 15e des essais chronométrés, il était retardé par un abandon dans sa dernière manche. Détenteur de trois meilleurs tours en course ce week-end, dont celui de la finale, Bas reprenait 5 places en préfinale et effectuait une finale magique pour terminer 2e à seulement 51 millièmes de seconde du vainqueur : la victoire n’était pas loin !
Abbasse au rendez-vous
Anthony Abbasse a réalisé une prestation des plus solides qui lui permet d’occuper la 2e place au classement provisoire de l’Euro Series. Second à l’issue des manches, avant de décrocher une belle victoire en préfinale, il a assuré la 3e place finale avec beaucoup d’intelligence.
Renaudin tout près de la pole position
Grâce au meilleur temps dans sa série chronométrée, Adrien Renaudin se classait 2e des essais à 13 millièmes de la pole position devant la plupart des ténors de la KZ2. Il devait faire face à quelques soucis dans une manche puis en préfinale avant de revenir en 8e position lors de la finale, ce qui lui permettait de rester au contact dans le top 10 du classement.
Sous la structure Junior du Trèfle Racing, le pilote officiel OK-Junior Evan Giltaire enregistrait une progression sensible de ses performances en se qualifiant pour la finale. Il effectuait une remontée de 11 places et terminait dans le top 20. A suivre !
Rendez-vous majeur de la saison, le Championnat d’Europe FIA Karting – KZ constitue le prochain objectif du Sodi Racing Team début mai à Wackersdorf en Allemagne.
