The sport’s news at the end of November is focused on the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, whose 22nd edition is currently taking place in Portimao. The season of big events will end after the Supernationals 25 which has just ended in Las Vegas. 590 drivers raced on the parking lot of the Rio casino hotel while there were 369 entries for ROK Vegas a week earlier on the same track.
Spanish multiple champion Pedro Hiltbrand (Birel ART) won the Supernationals Pro Shifter class, a $15,000 victory. Estonia’s Markus Kajak (Tony Kart) and Italy’s Fabian Federer completed the podium ahead of Riccardo Longhi (Birel ART) and Jake French (Birel ART). The success of Birel ART was confirmed by the 6th place for Marijn Kremers and the 8th for Cristian Bertuca, separated by David Trefilov. Hannah Greenmeier secured a superb top 10.
Evan Giltaire (KR) dominated in X30 Senior, becoming the first French winner in this category, which also earned him a $15,000 prize. Tomass Stolcermanis (Energy) and Ariel Elkin accompanied him on the podium while Marijn Kremers finished 7th. Stolcermanis also won the KA 100 Senior.
As for the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, it can count on a record number of 394 drivers from 61 nations in its six internal combustion and two electric categories. Combining rigour and festive spirit, the organisation of the Rotax world meeting fine-tunes the smallest details to do better each year. The unique concept of providing new karts free of charge to all participants remains impressive. The involvement of the faithful chassis partners Sodikart, Praga IPK and Birel ART is an important part of the annual challenge. Communication also progresses every year. In 2022, the live streaming has been extended to over five days, from Tuesday 22nd to Saturday 26th November. The beauty of the Algarve region and its coastline along the ocean as well as the mild climate increases the attractiveness of the event for drivers and their companions from around the world.
