The Countdown has started

All is ready for the 30th year edition of the Pharaons Rally. This year marks an important winning post for the Egyptian race that is running no stop since 30 years thanks to the welcoming of Egypt and its institutions The call for vehicles at Venice Port is set for this coming Monday, from where the M/V Euroferry Malta of Grimaldi Group Napoli is bound for Alexandria.

Few days of sailing then the vehicles will be ready to be collected by drivers on September 29th, while the bikes get directly in containers at Moevenpick Media City Hotel which has become the ideal logistics base for the Pharaons race since last year.

The crews that will get the start at the 2012 Pharaons Rally have reached the figure of hundred and right in these last days two important names have been added to the caravan; Jordi Viladoms (Bordone-Ferrari Racing Team) among bikes and Khalifa Al Mutaiwei-Andreas Schulz (Fazza Team). The first one will be the only rider attending for this Italian team and he’ll try to double his first world victory gained in Sardinia last June.

For Al Mutaiwei-Schulz it’s even more important to reach the finishing line; the Emirates driver on board of the Mini is in fact the actual leader of the general classification of the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies, leading with 115 scores versus the 106 of his most direct contender Jean Louis Schlesser.

The Pharaons will probably be decisive with its 60 scores as a prize and could close the games within one early race. The last race of the World Cup will in fact be the Baja Portalegre in Portugal on early November.

Few days to go for the exciting challenge in the Egyptian desert that will officially open on Saturday September 29th with two days reserved to scrutineerings. On October 1st from the astonishing terrace over the Pyramids of Giza, the official start of the 2012 Pharaons Rally will be given, for the first scheduled leg. Total kilometres are 2300 to be faced by riders and drivers with all the typical efforts of the big African marathons. Ancient caravan trails, challenging off roads and many, many dunes will mark every day the obstacles to conquer, in order to pass below the finishing arch on Saturday October 6th.

As usual the Pharaons will be followed by the TV reporters of France 24, with broadcasts in English, in French and in Arabic, of News Eurovision and many other networks that will daily tell about the performances of riders and drivers and of the atmosphere of Pharaons. Pochi giorni alla partenza dei veicoli dal Porto di Venezia, diretti ad Alessandria per affrontare la nuova avventura del Pharaons Rally. Il primo giorno di ottobre sancirà il via vero e proprio della gara, che si concluderà dopo sei tappe alle Piramidi di Giza.

E’ tutto pronto per l’edizione 2012 del Pharaons Rally. Quest’anno segna un traguardo importante per la gara egiziana, la cui prima edizione risale a 30 anni fa e che di anno in anno si rinnova grazie all’accogliente ospitalità dell’Egitto e delle sue istituzioni. Lunedì prossimo è fissata la convocazione dei veicoli al Porto di Venezia, da dove salperà il M/N Euroferry Malta della Grimaldi Group Napoli alla volta di Alessandria.

Qualche giorno di navigazione, poi i veicoli saranno pronti per il ritiro da parte dei piloti il 29 settembre, a parte le moto che arriveranno in container direttamente al Moevenpick Media City, dallo scorso anno ottima base logistica per il Pharaons.

Gli equipaggi che prenderanno il via al Pharaons Rally 2012 hanno raggiunto quota cento e proprio nei giorni scorsi si sono aggiunti alla carovana due importanti presenze: quella di Jordi Viladoms (Bordone-Ferrari Racing Team) tra le moto e quella di Khalifa Al Mutaiwei-Andreas Schulz (Fazza Team). Il primo sarà l’unico pilota presente della formazione italiana e cercherà di bissare la sua prima vittoria mondiale ottenuta in Sardegna a giugno.

Per Al Mutaiwei-Schulz il traguardo da raggiungere è ancora più importante: il pilota degli Emirati a bordo della Mini è infatti l’attuale leader della classifica generale della FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies, che guida con 115 punti contro i 106 del suo più diretto rivale Jean Louis Schlesser.

Il Pharaons sarà probabilmente decisivo con i suoi 60 punti in palio e potrebbe chiudere i giochi con una gara di anticipo. L’ultima prova della World Cup sarà infatti la Baja Portalegre in Portogallo a inizio novembre.

Manca dunque pochissimo per l’appassionate sfida nel Deserto Egiziano che si aprirà ufficialmente sabato 29 settembre con le due giornate riservate alle verifiche. Il 1° ottobre, dalla favolosa terrazza delle Piramidi di Giza, sarà dato il via ufficiale del Pharaons Rally 2012, con la prima delle sei tappe in programma. 2300 i chilometri totali che i piloti dovranno affrontare, con tutte le difficoltà tipiche delle grandi maratone africane. Antiche piste carovaniere, impegnativi tratti fuoripista e tante, tante dune segneranno ogni giorno gli ostacoli da superare, per sperare di transitare sotto l’arco di arrivo sabato 6 ottobre.

Plus que quelques jours pour le départ des véhicules depuis le port de Venise en direction du port d’Alexandrie en Egypte, pour une nouvelle édition de l’aventure du Rallye des Pharaons. Le départ sera donné le 1er octobre, pour arriver après six étapes aux pieds des Pyramides de Giza.

Tout est prêt pour cette 30ème édition du Rallyes des Pharaons. Une centaine d’équipages seront au départ du Rallye des Pharaons 2012, en ayant reçu ces derniers jours les engagements de 2 pilotes importants; Jordi Viladoms (Bordone-Ferrari Racing Team) en motos, et Khalifa Al Mutaiwei-Andreas Schulz (Fazza Team). Le premier sera le seul représentant de cette équipe italienne, et cherchera sa deuxième victoire du championnat du monde, après celle de Sardaigne au mois de juin dernier.

Pour Al Mutaiwei-Schulz c’est encore plus important d’être à l’arrivée; le pilote des Émirats à bord de la Mini est le leader du classement de la Coupe du Monde FIA Rallye Tout-Terrain, avec 115 points contre les 106 de son adversaire le plus directe, Jean Louis Schlesser.

Pharaons peut être décisif avec ses 60 points en jeu, et pourrait jouer le tour. La dernière épreuve de la Coupe du Monde sera la Baja Portalegre qui aura lieu début Novembre.

Plus que quelques jours pour ce merveilleux défi dans le désert Égyptien, qui commencera le Samedi 29 Septembre avec 2 jours de vérifications. Le 1er Octobre, le départ pour la 1ère étape sera donné depuis une incroyable terrasse sur les Pyramides de Giza. Les motards et pilotes devront faire face à 2300 km, avec les défis typiques des grands marathons africains. Anciennes routes de caravanes, hors-pistes exigeants et beaucoup, beaucoup de dunes seront les obstacles à franchir pour arriver au podium d’arrivée le Samedi 6 Octobre.

Comme les années précédentes, le Pharaons sera suivi par des journalistes TV de France 24, avec des émissions en anglais, français et arabe, de News Eurovision et nombreux autres TV qui informeront tous les jours des étapes, pilotes et de l’atmosphère des Pharaons.
