Everything is ready in the Écrins National Park. The “White Circus” is now in France.
The Individual and Vertical races will be disputed respectively Thursday 8th and Friday 9th in the morning.
The first one, drew by the Local Organising Committee and controlled by the ISMF referees, provides 1800m of positive difference in height, spread over 6 ascents with some sections to go beyond with skis in the rucksack.
Senior women and junior men categories will face with a 1500m difference in height track and 5 ascents. Junior women will compete in a track with a 910m of positive difference in height.
114 athletes, 13 Nations along with the top worldwide athletes will be present in Puy St. Vincent. The French Xavier Gachet will try to repeat the great success of Villars-sur-Ollon. It won’t be a piece of cake, in fact he will have to fight with the light blue Robert Antonioli, Michele Boscacci, Nadir Maguet, the Swiss Martin Anthamatten and the French William Bon Mardion.
The Spanish Kilian Jornet is finally back, after a three months convalescence due to an accident. He will certainly try to get the podium in the Vertical race and dethrone the German Anton Palzer from the first position.
The women’s race is dominated once again by the French Laetitia Roux and her team mate Axelle Mollaret, the Swiss Victoria Kreuzer, the Italian Alba De Silvestro and the Spanish Claudia Galicia Cotrina.
