Well represented at Le Mans during an FFSA meeting preceding the conclusion of the European Championship, the official Parolin Racing Kart team was in the public eye once again.
Gabriele Mini’ dominated the OK category and added an undisputed victory to his record while new rookie James Wharton made a convincing debut in OK-Junior.
“We decided to take advantage of the FFSA event to get our bearings on the Le Mans circuit before the last meeting of the FIA Karting European Championship,” declared Marco Parolin. “Victory was not our main goal, but it’s always a good sign when one of our drivers wins. Gabriele Mini’ once again fulfilled his mission by climbing onto the top step of the podium. That said, we will continue our work to improve our performance. The other reason for satisfaction is the arrival of an excellent Junior driver in our team. The young Australian James Wharton quickly felt confident with our equipment and he was able to take a 4th place in his first participation with Parolin. It’s very encouraging for him and for us!”
The field was of a sufficiently high standard at Le Mans in the French OK Championship for the confrontation to be significant. Parolin Racing was able to gather a lot of information on the French track and the LeCont tyres to prepare its Parolin / TM Racing karts equipped with LeCont tyres for the European Championship. Already 2nd in Timed Qualifying, Gabriele Mini’ then won all the heats, the Prefinal, and the Final after a close battle. At the same time, Hugo Sasse was more and more successful and finished in an interesting 6th position.
James Wharton did not take long to adapt to his new team, as he was already in 2nd place in Timed Qualifying in the French Cup for OK-Junior against 54 participants, including several seeded in the category. 7th at the end of the heats, he came back to 3rd in the Prefinal before finishing with a quite significant 4th place in the Final. The arrival of a driver of the standard of Wharton provides an excellent opportunity for the team to progress in Junior too. The competition was not easy for everyone, but we can note the beautiful comeback of 11 places by Mateo Rubio Luengo. Much delayed by two retirements in the heats, Brando Badoer, 8th in Qualifying, could not qualify for the Final.
In less than two weeks at the Le Mans circuit, the fourth and final round of the European Championship promises to be particularly interesting for Parolin. Currently 3rd in the provisional standings, Mini’ will have a great card to play while Wharton will be able to demonstrate the full extent of his talent with his new team.
Le Mans: nuova vittoria nella OK e promesse nella Junior
Il team ufficiale Parolin Racing Kart, ben rappresentato a Le Mans in occasione del meeting FFSA che precede la conclusione del Campionato europeo, si è messo nuovamente in evidenza. Gabriele Minì ha dominato la categoria OK e ha aggiunto una vittoria incontestata al suo palmares mentre la nuova recluta James Wharton ha debuttato in modo molto convincente nella OK-Junior.
“Abbiamo deciso di approfittare dell’organizzazione di questa prova FFSA per prendere i nostri riferimenti sul circuito di Le Mans prima dell’ultimo appuntamento del Campionato europeo FIA Karting”, ha dichiarato Marco Parolin. “La vittoria non era il nostro obiettivo principale, ma è sempre un buon segno quando uno dei nostri piloti vince. Gabriele Minì ha nuovamente compiuto la sua missione salendo sul gradino più alto del podio. In ogni caso continueremo a lavorare per migliorare sempre le nostre performance. L’altra ragione di soddisfazione è l’arrivo nel nostro team di un eccellente pilota Junior. Il giovane australiano James Wharton si è sentito subito a suo agio con il nostro mezzo ed è stato in grado di conquistare un quarto posto finale sin dalla sua prima partecipazione con Parolin. Molto incoraggiante per lui e per noi!”
Il parterre di piloti che partecipavano al Campionato di Francia a Le Mans era abbastanza alto da rendere la competizione molto agguerrita. Parolin Racing ha potuto raccogliere numerose informazioni sul circuito francese e gli pneumatici LeCont per sviluppare ulteriormente i kart Parolin/TM Racing dotati di pneumatici LeCont in vista del Campionato europeo. Già secondo nelle prove cronometrate, Gabriele Minì ha poi vinto tutte le manche, si è imposto nella prefinale e ha conquistato la finale al termine di una battaglia serrata. Allo stesso tempo, Hugo Sasse si è dimostrato sempre più performante e ha concluso con un’interessante sesta posizione.
James Wharton non ci ha messo molto ad adattarsi al suo nuovo team realizzando già il secondo tempo delle prove cronometrate della Coppa di Francia OK-Junior che contava 54 partecipanti di cui varie teste di serie della categoria. Settimo al termine delle manche, è rimontato in terza posizione nella prefinale per poi concludere con un quarto posto finale decisamente significativo. L’arrivo di un pilota del livello di Wharton offre un’eccellente opportunità al team di fare progressi anche nella categoria Junior. La gara non è stata facile per nessuno, ma abbiamo assistito a una bella rimonta finale di undici posizioni da parte di Mateo Rubio Luengo. Rallentato da due ritiri nelle manche, Brando Badoer, ottavo nelle prove cronometrate, non è riuscito a qualificarsi.
Tra meno di due settimane sul circuito di Le Mans la quarta e ultima prova del Campionato europeo si annuncia particolarmente interessante per Parolin. Attualmente terzo nella classifica provvisoria, Minì avrà una bella carta da giocare mentre Wharton potrà dimostrare tutto il suo talento nella sua nuova squadra.

Bien représenté au Mans lors d’un meeting FFSA précédant la conclusion du Championnat d’Europe, le team officiel Parolin Racing Kart n’a pas manqué de se mettre une nouvelle fois en évidence. Gabriele Mini’ dominait la catégorie OK et ajoutait une victoire incontestée à son palmarès tandis que la nouvelle recrue James Wharton effectuait des débuts très convaincants en OK-Junior.

Gabriele Mini’ a encore une fois rempli sa mission en montant sur la plus haute marche du podium. Cela dit, nous allons continuer à travailler pour continuer à améliorer nos performances. L’autre motif de satisfaction est l’arrivée dans notre équipe d’un excellent pilote Junior. Le jeune Australien James Wharton s’est rapidement senti en confiance avec notre matériel et il a pu atteindre une 4e place finale dès sa première participation avec Parolin. C’est très encourageant pour lui et pour nous ! »
Le plateau était suffisamment relevé au Mans dans le Championnat de France OK pour que la confrontation soit significative. Parolin Racing a pu emmagasiner de nombreuses informations sur le tracé français et les pneumatiques LeCont pour faire progresser ses ensembles Parolin/TM Racing équipés de pneumatiques LeCont en vue du Championnat d’Europe. Déjà 2e des essais chronométrés, Gabriele Mini’ a ensuite gagné toutes les manches, s’est imposé en préfinale et a remporté la finale au terme d’une bataille serrée. Dans le même temps, Hugo Sasse se montrait de plus en plus performant et concluait avec une intéressante 6e position.
James Wharton n’a pas mis longtemps pour s’adapter à sa nouvelle équipe puisqu’il réalisait déjà le 2e temps des essais chronométrés de la Coupe de France OK-Junior en présence de 54 participants, dont plusieurs têtes de série de la catégorie. 7e à l’issue des manches, il revenait 3e de la préfinale avant de conclure par une 4e place finale tout à fait significative. L’arrivée d’un pilote du niveau de Wharton offre une excellente opportunité à l’équipe de progresser également en Junior. La compétition n’a pas été facile pour tout le monde, mais on peut noter la belle remontée finale de 11 places réalisée par Mateo Rubio Luengo. Très retardé par deux abandons dans les manches, Brando Badoer, 8e des chronos, ne pouvait pas se qualifier.
Dans moins de deux semaines sur le circuit du Mans, la quatrième et dernière épreuve du Championnat d’Europe s’annonce particulièrement intéressante pour Parolin. Actuellement 3e au classement provisoire, Mini’ aura une belle carte à jouer tandis que Wharton pourra démontrer toute l’étendue de son talent dans sa nouvelle équipe.
