Martedì 8 ottobre 2013 alle ore 11,00, il Dipartimento di Scienze Politiche e Sociali dell’Università di Pavia organizza nell’Aula Grande dello stesso dipartimento l’incontro dal titolo “Gender,class and racial intersectionalities among SouthAfrican women in HigherEducation” interviene Sonia Loots allieva del Centro Internazionale Cooperazione per lo Sviluppo (Cicops), presiede la prof.ssa Enrica Chiappero.
Dr. Sonja Loots obtained her PhD in Psychology from the University of the Free State,South Africa in 2011.
Her current research primarily revolves around two proiects. The first project: Gender,Empowerment,Agenc.r. and Higher Educahon {GEAHE): women’s narratives ot agency opportunities,choices and achievements is aimed to focus on the contributions and barriers to thedevelopment of empowerment and agency in women,primarily highlighting on the role of higher education. The second project is focusing on implementing the capability approach to enhance the quality and influence the type of doctoral stuaents proauced by both developing and developed worlds to promote social agency. Dr Loots in currently CICOPSVisintg Scholar at the Department of Social and Political Studies under thesupervision of Prof. Enrica Chiappero-Martinetti.
